My sister called me recently, raving about a new friend she had made. They had dinner together at Cecconi's in LA, after being introduced by a mutual friend. "She's blonde and beautiful," my sister described. "She's French, super smart---and she was wearing these amazing open-toe boots." Fast forward a few days later to me at my desk procrastinating and Pinteresting. I come across the picture, above. More open-toe-boot chicness! I took this as a sign to hunt down my own pair. And I scored in these Louise et Cie open-toe booties. They're perfection. They hit just below the ankle, which mitigates the leg-shortening effect that can go along with these types of shoes. They also go with short skirts, midi skirts, cropped pants, and, of course, dresses. Plus, the heel is low enough for logging laps around the city and the side cut-outs make them hot-weather breathable and sexy. I think these boots were meant to be!

Never thought that I'd like something like this, but you've proven me wrong. They're so chic. Definitely might have to get a pair:)

Love this post. I found an awesome pair from JCrew about 2 years ago...they are the perfect all season bootie. I ended up buying an "extra pair," just in case anything ever happened to them.

I have one similar to the one in the picture, I have have a thing for peep toe and lace up shoes and this year I added 2 to my collection.
I found a few cute not so expensive pairs that I think would be great this fall. Do you prefer these with a wedge or a small heel? I can't decide.ttacu
I love the whole outfit you found on Pinterest. Any idea who makes the skirt or where I might find a similar look?

I love that the open toe lace up is still in style. It has had surprising staying power- I'm assuming because of its practicality. I think the key is in the right cut around the ankle- not too high (unless you have really skinny legs) and semi snug as in the picture.
How long 'around the year' could I wear these? Do you consider them fit for certain seasons?
Marlien-you also had some great boots like these in a previous post. They were from Asos, Faith is the brand? I bought them and they are awesome!
Love these! BUT, ouch, 3 3/4 heel is is not low for me at 6' :(
