Breaking news: the fashion gods have issued a memo to everyone in New York City, instructing them to wear only long skirts and dresses. On the runways (Derek Lam, Rag & Bone, Altuzarra, etc.) and off (proof in these pics), hemlines are below the knee or longer. Between you and me, there are some who believe that longer hemlines predict a stock market decline ahead. But never mind that China-slowdown stuff, let's focus on what matters here! The perk of this covered-up silhouette is that it easily transitions into the cold, winter months, with a pair of tights and boots. I'd like to work this major trend with these standouts by DKNY (this one actually just arrived at my doorstep and it's beyondo!), Whistles, Self Portrait, Tibi, Rachel Comey, Topshop, A.L.C., Alexander Wang, J.Crew, and Zara.
