Typically it's the hero skirts, statement tops and technicolor accessories that trigger the camera flashes outside the shows during New York Fashion Week. This time around, it's--surprise, surprise!--dressed-down denim. Yesterday, (A.K.A., Day 1 of NYFW), show-goers, above and below, strutted out all manner of blues: cropped jeans, distressed cut-offs, deconstructed, high-waisted, frayed and bleached. All of it, I like! Because these pieces work--and make a statement!--in real life, not just on paparazzi-infested sidewalks. The most stylish indigo girls in my book right now include these by Vetements (pictured in second to last pic), Alexa Chung x AG Jeans, Raey, Steve J and Yoni P, Topshop, Frame, Tory Burch and Mother.

okay, pleeease tell me about those boots in the top picture?!
Who makes the white shirt pictured above? I adore it!
The white top is actually a belted vest by Zara and the boots are by Paula Caldemartori.
Who makes the open back stripe top in the bottom picture? It's lovely!

Who makes the beautiful off the shoulder print top?
These are nice looks, and I agree that denim worn with fancy items appears quite current. However, I wouldn't call it dressed *down* denim at all, but the opposite. Dressed down is casualized, while this denim is dressed *up*. You could say that the denim dresses down the dressy items. The two affect each other in opposite ways.
