back and front

A top that I can wear backwards and forwards is a top that belongs in my closet forever. Thank you, Merlette, for making this summer's easiest, most wearable top. Bonus: it's tissue-light for these hotter-than-heck days!

with grace

London-based model Grace McGovern has beach-to-street style nailed, thanks to versatile pieces that are both seaside and skyscraper-friendly. In Ibiza, above, she rocks a cute crochet Zara dress that would also work under a oversized white blazer in the city. Same goes for the flowy checked skirt, below. Her other summer go-to's: simple t-shirt dresses (from Kule, Jonathan Simkhai and With Jean, pictured below); knit dresses (ALC, Line & Dot, and Asos), seductive shoulder-baring tops (this, this and this), statement sunnies (yes and yes!), and a good straw bucket hat (And Other Stories, below).

aloha dress

More days in Hawaii means more standout dresses! I hit the jackpot with Goop's new maxi, above, which makes a major statement from the front and the back (see here). The other beauties that made my carry-on edit: this vibrant Cynthia Rowley, this belted Cleobella mini, this floral Spell dress, this white Ulla Johnson (which I bought in HI), and this day to night shirt dress from Zara.

french filles

I'm no longer an aspiring chic French girl. I am an aspiring chic French mother, who looks like a sister to her daughters! Translation: I want to be like Paris-based Elisabeth Mory, on the right, above, with her twin daughters. Along with their amazing genes, it's also their amazing jeans and other updated French-girl classics that manifest timeless style. Their go-tos: crisp straight-leg denim from Re/Done, Frame, and Rouje, easy, breezy dresses from The Reformation and Realisation Par, fitted t-shirts by Frankie Shop and Theory (below) and Mar y Sol woven bags.

drama class

All the summer drama I want is up to 70% off at Shopbop, starting today, including the Chufy floral mini, above, and the Cult Gaia cover-up, below. Also majorly compelling: this striped Self Portrait, this printed Isabel Marant Etoile, this one-shouldered Lisa Marie Fernandez, this flutter-sleeved Sea tank top, and this pretty patchwork Ulla Johnson. Shop the epic sale here!

to the max

Bikes and big dresses: It's officially a thing this summer--at least on Instagram! While I'm not sure I can finesse wearing the dress while riding a bike without it getting caught in the chain, I can max out my dress game with big-statement beauties. The latest and greatest come from English Factory, Free People, Love the Label, Staud, ALC, and Solid & Striped.

When Venice-based designer Kendall Conrad asked my sis and me to pile on her new summer jewelry, we were more than thrilled! We've long been fans of her minimalist, bohemian-spirited, yet elegant aesthetic. Her signature pieces--stackable rings, easy hoops, and tribal cuffs--are the ones we wear day in and day out, everywhere and anywhere! Please check out all the fun pics and our favorite styles here. We also did a funny Q&A--check it out here!

amalie and cecilie

amalie cecilie moosgaard

Since the day I was born, I've always had two closets: mine and my identical twin sister's. To this day, I still borrow (and, okay, sometimes steal) pieces from her wardrobe and vice versa. It's an uniquely awesome arrangement, dependent upon our exact-same size, height, and, for the most part, similar style. It's fun to see Danish twin models Amalie and Cecilie Moosgard, pictured here, doing the same thing. Although I can't tell them apart (LOL!), I can clearly discern their mutual fondness for summer whites (Tove dress, third pic down, along with Filipa K  Mango and Toteme jeans, below), backless swimsuits-meet-tops (Anemos, pictured below, and also this one), Levi's denim cut-offs, black ATP Atelier cut-out sandals (immediately below) and ballerinas, easy button-downs (this, this, and this), and fitted white t-shirts and perfect tanks. #goals

summer whites

Happy to report that my summer is breezing along beautifully, except it's lacking one thing: a long white dress that's lightweight, easy-going, and everywhere-chic. Thankfully, great options abound but my all-out favorites come from Minkpink, Faithfull the Brand, Cecilie Bahnsen (pictured below--this one on sale), Opt, Ulla Johnson (on sale), and Merlette (size down).

in the mode

Since my early days at Lucky Magazine, I've always championed emerging, female-founded brands. I love the thrill of discovery and sharing--and so I jumped at the opportunity to curate a summer shop on Modatrova, a site dedicated to up-and-coming female designers. I think you'll want to check out all the under-the-radar beauts I found, including the gorgeous Cara Cara dress, above. See my selects here!

big daddy

Anyone else scrambling for a last-minute Father's Day gift? I'm asking for a friend! ;) I do have some good ideas up my sleeve though, with some of them rendering mutually beneficial payoffs. Take, for example, Surfrider Hotel's Malibu candle, which will transport him to a beautiful big-wave day at Third Point (and make your house smell like heaven)! Also great: GrillKilt, an innovative grilling apron-meets-tool belt that holds grilling accessories, facilitates cooking and will make him like grilling even more! Read: less slaving over the stove. Then there's the self-cleaning water bottle, Larq, which, believe it nor not, purifies the water inside every two hours. Want to go all out? How about The Art of Ping Pong's wall-mounted table, above?! It looks like a piece of art on your wall and then comes down for fun and action. Yes, please!!

laced

For me, nothing screams summer more than a little lace. It's a light, delicate, and sexy flourish that goes a long (stylish) way in warm weather. I love Sezane's new silk, high-collar blouse, above, and also these pretty options from Farm Rio, River Island, Alice & Olivia, Ulla Johnson (on sale), and Love Shack Fancy.

zara haul

Thank you, Zara, for making my summer style a breeze with high-impact shorts. Plus great tops to go with. I love the embroidered pair, above, the print blouse, below, these bandana-print short (and matching top), these gingham pair (and top) and this Pucci-spirited pair.

blooming bikinis

Everyone seems to be on the floral bikini bandwagon this summer, and I am happy to jump on board. I'd like to make waves in these beauties from Frankies Bikinis, Agua Bendita, Minkpink, Reina Olga, and Target (similar to above). Happy Summer Weekend!

out and about

This reminds me: I could use a major statement blouse this summer--one that works equally well with casual daytime shorts and date-night jeans. LA-based Jazy Goh has this rare top nailed (above and below). I also sourced these goodies from Ulla Johnson, Veronica Beard, Shoshanna, plus And Other Stories.

light dressing

How will I be summering? In easygoing, lightweight dresses, of course. Thankfully, my current faves are also easy on the wallet. They include the cut-out And Other Stories, above, the slinky H&M, below, this puff-sleeve Nasty Gal, this mini print Zara, this 0ne-shoulder Shein, and this backless linen Pixie Market.
