weekend plans

TGIF! What's on my agenda this weekend? Catching up on my brilliant writer friend Alessandra Codinha's must-read newsletter called Here We Go, rife with book recs, travel discoveries and other juicy "sharable delights," listening to Elise Loehnen's latest podcast on "The Power of Visual Thinkers," hanging new art with help from Simply Framed (a seamless online service that's perfectly framed my most beloved art, including my Lichtenstein print above), start binge watching Spiral, which all my friends are hooked on, seriously contemplate adding more sexy sparkles (below) to my holiday wardrobe, and praying it gets cold enough to bust out this new Toteme jacket. I'll also be on a mission to find a great lifeguard costume for my son to wear on Halloween! Enjoy!

strong suit

The new offerings at And Other Studios deserve a shout-out, IMHO. I particularly love the on-point drawstring trousers, above (also perfect with a t-shirt and sneakers) and the under-$300 faux fur coat, and belted jacket, both below. Ogle some more here!

the great x eddie bauer

Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, the LA-based styling duo who founded Current/Elliott denim and are now the designers of The Great, have teamed up again with Eddie Bauer  for another extra cute capsule collection, chock full of fun fleeces, puffers, boots and more. I snapped up a color-blocked fleece from the first collab last year and every time I wear it, I get a zillion compliments. So, I'll be doing round two in the checked zip-up, above middle, the striped boots and reversible bomber jacket. Check out the entire collection--poised to quickly sell out!--here and here!

out and about

I posted this pic on my Instagram Stories last week and I am still getting DM's, inquiring about the provenance of my dress. So, I thought I'd officially broadcast the answer: it's by Dorothee Schumacher and available here. I plan to wear it with boots and a big chunky cardigan when the weather cools down. My friend, Ali Larter, who just debuted her new wine label Forever Gold (we were out celebrating the launch!), is wearing a pretty wrap Zimmermann

repeat after me

I think everyone has seen me in my Chanel PVC-vamp slides, since I've literally worn them almost every day for the last few years. But that's about to change thanks to this new pair from Prada, which I just pre-ordered here and plan to wear over and over and over again! On the subject of non-stop wardrobe staples, I've been wearing the cute cotton blouson top, below, and these super flattering, super comfy wide-leg jeans from Andrea's Lookbook x Joe's Jeans on repeat. No joke, everyday since the collab launched last week!

sale season

Sale season is officially in full swing--and, no surprise here, I'm ready for it! For three days only, Shopbop is offering fall's most desirable styles, such as  Anine Bing's chic (Celine-inspired) loafers, above, at a up to 40%, along with the sexy Sea New York sweater, below, the statement top by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, last pic, plus cult Levi's jeans, these Isabel Marant boots, this cool puffer-meets-moto jacket by SAM, this Aje statement dress, and this staple AGOLDE tank top. There's also tons of excellent workout wear on sale (Stella McCartney!) and cold weather-proof coats.

life of the party

Party season is kicking off a little earlier this year! At least for me. I've been social butterfly-ing non-stop since the start of the month--and marathon-dressing for it. Among the gems I've taken out: the Jonathan Simkhai, above, and this pleated Ulla Johnson, both to rave reviews. With holiday soirees on the horizon--and further incentivized by Net-A-Porter's Friends and Family Sale (it's the last day!)--I'm looking into some new dresses to wow. On my short list: this Remain Birger Christiansen (under a tuxedo blazer),  this cut-out Cult Gaia and this embellished chiffon Self-Portrait. Shop the whole sale (up to 25% off) here!

good run

This morning I went on a long run with my twin sister, whom I've not seen in over a month. She had lots of juicy and random discoveries to share, including the crazy yummy clam pizza at Pasquale Jones, Breathless at the Film Forum, and her new $34 go-to jeans from H&M, above. After our run, I ran straight to the source to snag a pair for myself and also discovered the party-ready sequin mini, below, the cute crochet balaclava, the borg-collared denim jacket, the striped mohair sweater.

tactical tuesday

This ridiculously cute Tach sweater not only sucked me into buying it on the spot but also into the fantastic vortex that is Shopbop's just-launched 70% off sale, rich with goodies like this ALC knit dress, the ASTR cropped jacket, below, this tiered Ulla Johnson dress, and this Re/Done denim mini skirt. Dare to go down the rabbit hole here!

best friends

Friends flew in from New York City this past weekend, and it was non-stop, action-packed fun: surfing Little Dume, sushi at Blue Ribbon, drinks at The Beverly Hills Hotel, and an epic Saturday night dance party. Another awesome friends event kicks off this morning with Net-A-Porter's Friends and Family sale,  featuring up to 25% off the newest and most desirable fall and winter styles, including the faux shearling LVIR jacket, above, the Ulla Johnson pretty, below, these perfectly-cut Re/Done jeans, this cashmere Theory sweater and these suede Gianvito Rossi boots. There are also big-ticket items like fancy holiday dresses by Lanvin and Etro to be had for less! Dive in to all of the epicness here!

big deal

Blazers are bigger than ever this fall--both literally and figuratively! They dominated the streets of Paris during fashion week, and coats and jackets, are following suit, large and in charge. I want to invest in this Sacai jacket (or this one--I can't decide), as I know I will wear it over and over and over again. I also think the fringed H&M poncho, last pic, is a good idea!

on target

In case you missed it, Target recently launched some cool collabs with designers La Ligne and Kika Vargas--and there is so much cuteness (for less!) to be had. I love this wrap top, trench coat and striped knit. Check it all out here!

dorsey

I don't mind that my friends constantly raid my closet, but lately they're all trying to borrow one item I don't want to even temporarily part with: my Dorsey Rivière necklace ! And for obvious reasons: it's radiantly sparkly and adds the chicest flash to any outfit. Its lab-grown gemstones and 18k gold-coated brass and sterling silver make it look like a real-deal diamond necklace--but I love its deal-like price! I tell them to get their own, but they haven't been able to, because it constantly sells out. (Explains why they keep trying to steal mine!) But today I'm writing to tell them and all of you that Dorsey not only just restocked tons of sold-out pieces, but launched a new collection, featuring longer necklaces, earrings (that I have not taken out of my ears since I put them in several weeks ago) and a bracelet. I recommend you hurry, otherwise you might have to wait months for one of your own.

sleek sunnies

nicole chavez

Yes, Ray-Bans have long been my signature sunnies, but lately, I've been changing/stepping things up with the sleek D-frame glasses, above, by Jenny Bird. I wore them in Paris (in black) and received a jillion compliments!

prime time

While other people might be taking advantage of Amazon Prime Day's sale--in full swing today through October 13--to buy big-ticket items, like a discounted Peloton, a fancy cold-press juicer, or a De'Longhi espresso maker, I'm loading up on Levi's 501's, above, that are 40% off ($47!!!), this Sea New York embellished fleece jacket, below, this Line Fair Isle sweater and these Loeffler Randall boots. Get on it here

2. The Row jeans, $650, netaporter.com

big boots

It didn't feel like fall in Paris last week, but it sure looked that way with all the boots on the ground. Knee-high and higher styles marched skirts, mini skirts and shorts into next-season perfection. I prefer ones with low or block heels, so that they're more wearable , but still make a big statement like these from Chloe (immediately below), Loeffler Randall, Schutz and Zara. P.S. How crazy cool is Caroline Issa's faux shearling Sacai jacket, above? LOVE!

paris perfection

As Audrey Hepburn famously said, "Paris is always a good idea." Even for a 96-hour trip! During my whirlwind visit there this past week, I packed in at least 12,000 steps a day, meandering around the Marais, St. Germain des Pres, Ile St. Louis, the Right Bank (and running in Parc Monceau!); popping into art exhibits, fashion presentations, several parties and, of course, shopping! Want to know what I bought? Pretty much what the chic Parisiens are wearing: these Prada kitten heels, the embellished Sandro jacket, below, that I belted with this, as well as this denim coatigan, and this Isabel Marant boucle jacket. (Thanks to the strongest dollar in two decades!) All of these new gems complemented what I had packed in my Rimowa carry-on: the Maison Mayle black corduroy suit, below, the Mayle top and skirt, above, the bronze corduroy Blaze Milano blazer, the black square-neck G.Label Goop dress (which garnered major praise from all the French fashionistas), these Sam Edelman velvet Mary Janes, this Dorsey lab-grown Riviere necklace, and Doen's ruffle-trimmed maxi, and these Chloe knee-high brown boots, all pictured below. You can check out all the highlights (and my outfits) in my Instagram Paris Highlights.
