jeanius jane

Few people in the world have as deep an understanding of jeans as Jane Herman. The L.A. native grew up selling jeans and t-shirts at her family’s Ron Herman stores. She then spent two decades in New York, where she honed her expertise as a fashion writer and editor for Vogue and T: The New York Times Style Magazine and contributed her creative vision to brands such as GAP and Theory, all the while perfecting/sourcing her personal collection of impeccably-fitting denim. These days, she not only has an established denim line with a cult following called The Only Jane, but a must-read newsletter about, what else, denim! Last week, she reached out to me—and 18 other fashion insiders—to unveil our top fall picks. With a roster of experts like Jennifer Alfano, Leandra Cohen, and Becky Malinsky, it was no surprise to discover some of the season's most coveted styles, specifically these by B SidesAuralee, Loulou Studio (reportedly, the happy medium between straight-leg and wide) and Toteme (barell leg, baby!). I want them all!
