LE CATCH

There was a time many years ago when Pixie Market, a tiny East Village boutique, felt like my own little secret. I'd never leave empty handed and always with refreshingly affordable pieces that looked distinctly cool. When I walked by the store the other day, I was delighted to see that it had doubled in size since my last visit, brimming with even more stylish offerings. Today I discovered that the best of Pixie Market, including the sleek $100 dress, above and the statement bustier, below, is now available at Shopbop! My secret is officially out!

For my trip to Marrakech next week, I'm looking to Italian stylist Giovanna Battaglia Englebert (above left and below) for what-to-pack inspiration. With flashy prints, long skirts, ruffled tops, and statement sunglasses, she has Moroccan-glam nailed.

Anouk Yve, above, may have had the brilliant spring-styling idea to layer two blazers (a la Bottega Veneta), but I one-upped her by buying multiple blazers ands shirts ever so affordably at Uniqlo. I also picked up the green cargo pants, below, which I wear everywhere, even into flower-filled fields. (The pants run big so size down!)

I love a classic white button down blouse as much as everyone else does these days, but how about a white blouse that actually stands out from the rest? I love the ruffle cuffed one above by Paige especially layered under something tougher, along with this beauty!

My favorite fashionistas Courtney Grow and Lauren Santo Domingo have convinced me that I need an oversized white denim jacket in my wardrobe immediately. I'd guess with about 99.9% certainty that I'll never tire of wearing the above Phillip Lim denim and lace slip dress, with flats and heels, or topped with a oversized blazer, jean jacket or slouchy cardigan. The feather dress, below, is also a show-stopper, that I'll also dress up and down (with an extra big jean jacket and flat sandals!)

London-based Michelle Driscoll turned me on to my new summer jeans by Rails. I love how distinctly different they are from the white jeans already in my closet, thanks to the whimsical patchwork and cropped hem. They'd look cute with boots and a blazer too, come next winter!
