Scrolling through my feed this morning, I was transported straight into Liffner’s cocktail party the other night in Manhattan. I could almost hear the hum of chatter, the clink of glasses, the laughter bouncing off marble and mid-century lines. The women—sleek, spirited, utterly New York—were draped in sharp tailoring and understated shine, each look anchored by a bag. Liffner’s creations took center stage: sculptural suede clutches nestled next to slouchy top-handle pouches, gleaming navy croc textures brushing against embossed leather. They didn’t just complete the outfits; they defined them. And maybe that’s the larger story here: bags are having a moment again—but not in that singular, “It bag” kind of way. This time, it’s about personality, shade, mood. The bag as punctuation, as little daily sculpture. It’s the finishing touch but in all shapes and sizes. My current go-to's: this satin Staud (Prada Spring 26 vibes!), this vintage Celine and this 3.1 Phillip Lim (last pic).

Too much fringe? Impossible. I'd also wear buttoned up like a shirt underneath a sleek coat or belt it, layered over a turtleneck.

nada prada
Can we take a moment for Prada's “not-pajama” pajama tops that basically stole the show in Milan yesterday? They’re crisp cotton, they’re chic, and they’re… $2,350. Yes, for a shirt that looks suspiciously like the one I wore to bed last night! I’ll be over here dusting off my J.Crew pajama top and pretending it’s Prada. Spoiler: no one’s the wiser. Let's move on to Prada's drawstring leather bag (read: next big thing) that accessorized the shirts outside the show and on the Spring 2026 runway: they're rendered in myriad eye-popping shades from lavender to green to pink--and a variation can be had right now at an extremely wallet-friendly price from Cos, Parker Thatch and Calvin Klein ($39!). Speaking of attention-grabbing accessories, I wore my new Dorsey moissanite Theodora necklace to my niece's wedding last weekend and was told at least 20 times how brilliantly sparkly and beautiful it was. (Apparently, moissanite, a lab-grown gemstone, is birefringent, meaning light can split into two beams as it passes through, dispersing more light than a diamond.) Let's just say it upstaged more than a few sequins on the dance floor--and, okay, outshined their hardware, too! P.S. Even the small drop earrings are super radiant--such a good (self) gift! P.P.S. I've been wearing both these bright and shiny pieces everyday--not just to dress up! That's all I have this week! Much, much more on Monday! Until then, I'll be wearing my jammies!

bag binge
Walking down the street earlier this week, I was deep in thought about replacing my years-old bag by The Row—a faithful companion that’s carried me through seasons of outfits and moods. Just as I was weighing whether I really needed a new fall bag, the universe answered in the most dramatic fashion: one of the handles snapped, sending my entire life tumbling across the pavement. Lip balm rolling one way, sunglasses another. I took it as a divine green light. Without hesitation, I bee-lined to Prada, where my innocent plan for one replacement quickly spiraled into a bag-buying binge. First I snapped up the petite Prada, above, and then, like a fiend, I went to Gucci, and bought a practical but extra stylish roomy tote . Because when the universe speaks, I listen—and preferably in Nappa leather! And, okay, maybe in canvas Hathaway Hutton and broken-in (Prada-inspired) Parker Thatch, too!
