Prada just helped me empirically verify that my new skirt trend theory is correct. I initially noticed a high concentration of skirts on the New York runways (Altuzarra, Gabriella Hearst), then out and about on the streets in Milan (seen here) and now today at Prada's Fall 2022 show, in which there was a not a single pair of pants to be seen! So, naturally this means we need to start sourcing a few of our own show-stoppers that can be worn now through next fall and beyond. To be on trend, they need to fall below the knee and on the swingy side, like these by Vince, Nanushka, Alexander McQueen, Joseph and H&M.

Leave it Goop to launch me lickety-split into a faraway warm and sunny universe--otherwise known as Alexandra Sage's Australian Summer. I landed in this fine-sand world, replete with cloudless skies, turquoise waters and green palms, via Goop's Instagram feed, lured in by Alexandra's astronomic chicness, proven, above, in the matching Matteau set, above, and in the various images, below. Now I know, before I touch back down in Californian Summer, I'm going to need this tie-back dress, Rowie the Label's crochet knit shirtdress, the ric-rac dress by Oroton, the cut-out Cult Gaia, Sir the Label's see-through dress, and the Bondeye one-piece swimsuit, all below.

It's officially Ski Week on the west side of Los Angeles, with school out and actual snow falling in the mountains of Southern California today. But, go figure, I've got swimwear on my mind, specifically the kind that doubles as streetwear. Because the current trend has the swim/street lines blurred, I'm looking for suits that I can wear now and later--and treasure forever. Yes, some of them happen to be on the pricey side, like this sleek Celine bathing suit, this Missoni halter (imagine how cute with a denim skirt!) or this Fendi (with jeans and a big, cozy cardigan). But I also love these less expensive but endlessly versatile options from Ulla Johnson, Norma Kamali and Good American (underneath an oversized blazer).

Model Kaia Gerber, above, is always a step ahead of fast-paced sneaker trends. These days, she's running around in the Adidas Samba! And others, below, are now sprinting to keep up! These new must-have kicks are classic and comfortable (keep in mind they run small!) and go with just about everything. I almost might need them in both black and white!

In case you want to know who is helping me finesse sweater-weather fatigue, it's Danish creative director Pernille Teisbaek. Her keep-it-fresh styling strategy: tonal layering. The look is timeless, clean and yet cozy. For maximum comfort, she sticks to Frame Denim jeans, such as the new white straight-leg pair, pictured above, and blue cargoes, below. Her knits--like her navy striped sweater and scarf-trimmed Ganni tunic (both below)--are loose-fitting but still flattering. Also in her mix: the shearling Prada loafers and the zip-up cashmere cable-knit, above.

There was a time, back in the (pre-Covid) day, when I'd put on red lipstick regularly. But then lock-down locked that lipstick up! Until now. My polished pout is starting to venture out again, in its ready-to-go resplendent glory. But this time around, it's more moody maroon than flashy red--a reflection of the times, perhaps?! My inspiration: the shades seen in these recent snaps. Meet Mighty Maroon, my new go-to lip color!

Reportedly, Kate Middleton has been "re-wearing" a camel Massimo Dutti coat all winter long. This may surprise (or shock!) some, but I totally get it. Zara's lesser-known sister brand is looking extra chic this season--and, for me, it's making getting dressed royally easy.
