Every year my twin sister's husband texts me asking what he should he buy her for Christmas. And every year, believe it or not, I am stumped. So, this go-around, I thought I'd round up some options before he pings me--and at the same time give the elves in my life a chance to go shopping for me! Desperately needed is a new journal! I am on the last page of my Smythson leather bound notebook and want a new equally chic one stat! Enter these elegant, thought-provoking Gucci journals, below. Bonus: they can be monogrammed! The embroidered napkins and colorful plates instantly dress up a dinner table and are great conversation starters. Speaking of books, I want this rad surfing book, which will cool-ify my coffee table and, at the very least, distract my kids from the phones for an hour. Turns out my kids aren't the only ones asking for Christmas presents by designers I can't pronounce. I'd like to be gifted anything/everything by Lvir (Lover? Liver? LOL!). While the LA-based line just hit my radar, it's been around since 2017, specializing in stylish yet comfortable workwear-inspired pieces. I also like the price point! The holiday season is typically hectic but, for some reason, this year seems especially frantic! There have been back-to-back lunches, dinners, group hikes, and even pickle ball parties! All fun! Of course, the non-stop activity has demanded extra bling--i.e., Heritage Jewelry New York's new gold and enamel ring, above, and this Chan Luu necklace--along with lots of leather. The just-acquired vegan skirt, below, has been on shameless repeat. I don't think I've ever left Farmshop empty-handed. The always-bustling gourmet market, bakery and restaurant in Brentwood serves up the yummiest California-inspired fare from avocado hummus (my go-to) to gluten-free chocolate chip cookies (my 12-year-old's favorite). But on Monday I was served up some unexpected sartorial treats, thanks to a few friends I bumped into there. First, there was the new scrumptious sherpa jacket from Pilcro, above, that my Aspen-based pal introduced me to. I love its sweater-meets-jacket, indoor/outdoor vibe. She was also sporting these new sleek sunnies (seemingly universally flattering!) from Bottega Veneta. Then I spotted my hard-working CEO friend, who was running in for lunch between meetings, clutching her cell phone with its cute and clever Anya Hindmarch sticker pouch. Yes, this little card holder has a sticky back so you can attach it to your phone! (Genius stocking stuffer, too!) She also happened to be wearing the most everyday-perfect pair of wide leg jeans--another addition to my wardrobe! Thanks, friends!

Tis the season to dress up! I'm even cranking up my comfy lounge-wear (read: former lockdown looks) along the lines of the above from The Reformation. I woke up this Monday morning still feeling sloth-like from Thanksgiving's tryptophan but then, fortunately, my Instagram feed served up an invigorating remedy in the form of Filippa Hagg's inspirational on-the-go, coffee-in-hand style! The Paris-based creative director defines her distinctly sleek look as "Frandinavian," a mix of French-chic signatures and bold Scandinavian statement pieces. For me, Black Friday is the day I can justify buying things impulsively. Because they're on crazy sale! Can't stop, won't stop sale shopping! I think I'm compensating for all the Covid clothes still stuck in my everyday rotation.
