knit bits
Tuesday, February 23
Since sweater weather lasts a lot longer in England, I am looking there--specifically to London-based lawyer Lorna Humphrey--for some new knitwear inspo. Her trick to keeping things fresh is simple: head-to-toe neutrals, classic silhouettes and layering. In other words: forever chic, fail-proof sweaters that I can wear season after season, like these from By Malene Birger (below), Zara, Club Monaco, Rebecca Minkoff, and BB Dakota.

Stylist and designer (and my dear friend) Mary Alice Haney has the dressed the glam likes of Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift--and now me, thanks to her just-launched Amazon The Drop collection launching today! The collection, available for 2 days only, includes this cute, super flattering leopard print dress, above. Sizing is available in XXS-3X , and every piece is made to order ( good for the environment) and under $100 (good for me and you!). Shop it all here.

spring forward
Friday, February 19
With 73% of the United States blanketed in snow (the most widespread coverage in 17 years!), spring may feel like it's eons away but, in fact, it arrives in just 30 days! To say that I'm looking forward to longer days and warm sunshine would be an understatement. I'm also anticipating the big bloom, as in a crop of new wardrobe florals, such as the J.Crew dress, below, this gorgeous Sika dress (20% of proceeds will benefit the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation) and this $100 petal-hued pretty by English Factory, plus spring's must-have quilted jacket, above, (this, this, this and this!), along with a string of page-turners to plow through, like Sorrow and Bliss, Queenie, and Moms Don't Have Time To. Finally, on the binge-watch list: It's A Sin and Euphoria. Happy Weekend, people!
under wraps
Thursday, February 18
Stockholm-based screenwriter Fanny Ekstrand, below, knows a thing or two about dressing for long and frigid winters: "The colder the day, the longer the scarf," she asserts. Right now, she's not the only one wrapping up (in Loewe)--even indoors, too! The extra versatile layer is also a stylish flourish, as these pics prove. I'd like to weather the teeth-chattering cold with these knits from Acne Studios (last pic), &Daughter (above), and Madewell.

double denim
Tuesday, February 16
Still on the fence about double-dipping in denim? Here are some compelling reasons to try it, and if you need help calibrating your blues, all you have to do is look to Mango for its one-and-done jumpsuit, below, puff-sleeve mini, and belted dress, along with these pieces by Citizens of Humanity, H&M, Free People, and Gabriella Hearst.
amazing amanda
Monday, February 15
Amanda Sanchez has the plum job of being Chanel's in-house model and, naturally, the most covetable work wardrobe to go with: a chic yet nonchalant mix of jeans, white t-shirts, A-line skirts, sneakers, and, of course, lush Chanel tweed and supple quilted leather. All of which she wears to rue Cambon headquarters daily, and with so much aplomb that she recently inspired Chanel's real-life wardrobe-based Spring 2021 collection. Inspiringly, it's all for the taking on Amanda's Instagram feed. What I love most is how she grounds her style in accessible pieces. Take, for instance, her colorful Vans (these classic slip-ons, these go-with-everything checks), Nikes, and funky socks (gingham, skater, print)--accents that any of us can employ on this side of Seine. Also doable: her long A-line skirts with a vintage-y yet versatile vibe, like these by Frame, Mara Hoffman and H&M. Structured t-shirts are also in order like this vintage Chanel, this Acne Studios and this Theory. And for the win: discounted vintage Chanel!
bling empire
Friday, February 12
The Lunar New Year kicks off today--an occasion to start fresh and share in the hope of good things to come. I'm ringing it in with some good luck bling, namely my new Mignonne Gavigan lariat, above, and getting inspired to keep things continually sparkly with these snaps below. Let's start with the Brinker and Eliza gold necklace and spiral bracelet, immediately below, along these EF diamond hoops, or these double gold vermeil (read: affordable!) ones by Completedworks. Also would not mind shining in these under-$200 pieces by Demarson, Cloverpost, Bauble Bar, Thatch Jewelry (truly obsessed with these!), and Madewell. Read more about the Year of the Ox and its emphasis on the yin metal element (read: something sparkly!) here! Happy Weekend, all!
