I scored this statement-making $20 polka dot body suit, above, the other day and wore it to Little Beach House in Malibu, where it received tons of compliments. I also snapped up this $60 dress from Asos, below, which I plan to wear with and without a bikini. Other tempting under-$100 finds this Tuesday: this pretty party-worthy Topshop lace blouse, this super cute Pixie Market straw bag, these ruffled H&M sandals, and this Fifth Label striped dress. Apart from a throw-on-and-go dress, my favorite hot day hero is a white lace blouse. As you can see, it easily goes with anything from jeans to a swimsuit--and always looks sexy! Fortunately, this summer ushered in a bevy of beauties to choose from including the on-sale BA&SH top, above (expertly worn with a black bra underneath), this Mango, this organza Topshop, this one-shouldered Miguelina, and this Ulla Johnson.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a record-crushing scorcher today (117+ degrees in the valley!). I'm going to keep cool in this new barely-there H&M dress, above, but would do just as well in any of these heat-proof lovelies from Tularosa, Kos Resort, Miguelina, Free People, and Jonathan Simkhai. Happy (hot) Weekend!

Is it just me who feels a bit jipped by the July 4th holiday? It felt one long weekend too short! To perpetuate that off-duty feeling, I am currently romanticizing about wearing one of We are LEONE's dramatic duster coats. As you see they go seamlessly from the sweltering city (over jeans and a body suit) to the hotel pool (avec bikini). Added bonus: they can tremendously boost your vacation Instagram game. You'd think that an invitation to a haute couture show in Paris would require some major dressing up, but the 80-degree heat is demanding otherwise! Attendees are sporting chic shorts to keep cool, and why not? Shorts are just so easy and yet they can be a completely legitimate style statement, as demonstrated here. Of course, sophisticated accessories--i.e., an Hermes bag, a pair of Celine heels, above--up the chic factor. I could breeze through summer in the city with these especially stylish shorts by 3.1 Phillip Lim, A.L.C., J.Crew, Ulla Johnson, and Keepsake.

Professional photographers like my NYC-based dear friend Lucia Engstrom, above, have the magic touch when it comes to art directing/capturing a special summer moment, but the insane Yvonne S dress deserves a wee bit of credit, too, no?! I tried my hand at dramatic-dress magic in Malibu yesterday with help from my husband and a new H&M dress, below. I'll admit it isn't quite as breathtaking as above, but at least I can aspire to future picture-perfection with these by BB Dakota, Mara Hoffman, Rachel Comey, Ganni, and Dolce & Gabanna.

You know full well by now that I can sleuth out a great find (ahem, many!), but today's jackpot is a windfall for the books, thanks to Need Supply. Found: the greatest pair of easy breezy summer pants ever! I recently snapped up The Reformation's lightweight linen pair, above, and they've been giving my effortlessly chic summer dresses a run for their money. These pants are perfectly high-waisted, day-to-night wearable, and sandal to sneaker to kitten heel-friendly. In other words: pant perfection.
