You know how much I love an army jacket, and this fall's MAR x Clare V. jacket was quite a hit! So in the spirit of every-season-deserves-a-(M)ARMY, I teamed up with my girls at Goop, to deliver one that's truly next level! A polished, enduringly stylish topper that will make any outfit look "done." It comes with a removable faux fur stole (that can punctuate a holiday cocktail dress like nothing else, BTW) and cuffs, so that it can be worn year-round. Obviously, I love shopping, but not so much holiday shopping. Because I know what I want under the tree, but not necessarily what everyone else wants. So now, once again the pressure is on, and I thought I'd use this post to get a jump-start on my hunt for perfect people-pleasing presents that also cost under $100! Let's start with the cute earrings, above; Good Vibes are what we all want for the holidays, right?! This week has me holiday partying hard, with back-to-back soirees (and lunches!). 'Tis the season! I'd love to hit the circuit in this easy-to-throw-on yet high-impact (under $200!) sequin skirt, above, along with these fa-la-la-la dresses by H&M, Topshop, Saloni, Paskal, and Marchesa Notte.

My latest (and secret) styling trick is to wear things backwards. It sounds crazy, I know, but not only have I found new life in old clothes by doing this but I've doubled the wearability of newer pieces, too. Take for instance the beaded Dries Van Noten blouse, above, which looks way sexier turned around, and day-worthy, to boot. (P.S. Don't you love that I match my son's skateboard?) My most recent feat was wearing this new Asos dress backwards to a holiday party over the weekend. I also tucked the long sleeve inside the dress to make it symmetrical on top. It got rave reviews!

I'm heading to New York later next week and already bracing myself for the cold, un-LA-like weather. To be both warm and stylish, I'd like to take a cue from my friend fashion consultant and recent NY transplant Ramya Giangola and pack a sharp blazer that works both uptown and downtown, like her Rosie Assoulin (on sale!), above. I'm eyeing this lookalike from J.Crew. I would also like to pack these A.P.C corduroy trousers, this simply classic bell-sleeved sweater, this forever-chic Givenchy pea coat (40% off!), and these warm (and running around-friendly) Sam Edelman boots.
