While micro florals, suiting and lots of lavender are dominating New York's Spring 2018 runways, a new must-have pair of jeans are ruling the streets. Their distinct trademarks: straight-legged, high-waisted, cropped, and faded. I especially like these versions from Levi's, Re/Done, 7 For All Mankind, Frame, Mother and Vince.

Exciting news! I've teamed up my good friend and bag designer extraordinaire Clare Vivier to create two things we're going to wear all fall long--and beyond! First, the MARMY, a military jacket, tricked out with hand-painted stripes, silk grosgrain ribbon around the collar, cropped, ribbed sleeves and the most universally flattering, one-size-fits-all fit. The hand-painted pocket monogram is optional, but you know I can't resist one, especially when I can do it various eye-popping hues. I plan to wear this jacket with pretty much everything in my closet, from jeans to midi dresses, under my winter coat and over my coziest sweaters. Also crazy cute is the Lauren cross-body bag that comes with a floral shoulder strap, room for your cell phone and wallet, and the perfect amount of clean leather for another monogram!

Chalk it up to denial, or simply a meager attempt to extend summer: I'm stepping into fall with sandal-like shoes. The pointy-toe babouche-inspired slippers are not only relaxed and comfortable, but their skin-baring sexiness is a nice contrast to all the layers I'll be piling on top! I love these on-trend versions by And Other Stories (above), Ulla Johnson, Schutz, Aquazuura, The Row, Figue, and Manolo Blahnik.

H&M's embellished (Gucci-esque!) jeans are right up my playful-statement making alley. Its straight, cropped silhouette yields day to night versatility, and the price can't be beat.

Last week in my native city I played tour guide to my sons, who unlike typical sightseers, did not want to check out the Whitney's Calder exhibit (much to my dismay, as I hear it's amazing!) or even to go to Central Park Zoo (been there, done that, they said). Instead they opted for a round (or five) of miniature golf and skateboarding down in Hudson River Park, followed by a trek to the Upper East Side for gluten-free eclairs at Paris-based Noglu (they're insane!). There was also a visit to the Lego store, a few rides on the subway (just because!) and jaunts around Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Soho, and Tribeca. The heat and humidity high called for the lightest clothing, which, for me, entailed flowy dresses, including the cute, cut-out denim jumpsuit, below, and the Topshop, below. I'm headed back to NYC in a few days for Fashion Week, and, this time around, a more sophisticated wardrobe is in order. Here's what I'd like to bring: this throw-on-and-go MAR dress, these Gucci sneakers (for running around in between shows), this outfit-making Clare V. bag, this cocktails-ready Topshop midi, this fluttery eyelet Line & Dot blouse, this paparazzi-loving Loewe sweater (in case the temperature dips) and this Lancome Juicy Shaker in Vanilla Pop, which I just discovered for the perfect day-to-night pout.

I'm on the fence about the dress-over-jeans trend, but I am committed to procuring a fall dress that can be worn over jeans in case I go for it! Cleverly, some designers are making this type of convertible piece for the undecided like me--i.e., a dress-meets-shirt that can go both ways. Take these versatile dresses by Sandy Liang, H&M (pictured immediately below--I have and love!), Petersyn, Rixo London and Ganni. Oh, and the perfect cropped jeans to go with are by AGOLDE.

Come fall, a checked print coat is all I'll need to look on point everyday single day! It will instantly update any outfit and make a spot on statement. I also love the idea of throwing it over other graphic prints like dark florals, stripes or gingham for more printasticness. While these checked toppers from Balenciaga and Prada are amazing, I also think these by Topshop, Zara, Stella McCartney, and Baum und Pferdgarten are pretty darn great.
