Meanwhile down in Australia, it's Fashion Week, and the attendees' collective decision to don faded jeans indicates it's the hue du jour. I'm betting this trend will travel to our shores this summer, so I scouted the best light-wash styles, and so far, they include pairs from Mother, Alexander Wang, Anine Bing, Re/Done, and 3x1 (pictured above).

I'm not in the habit of partying on a Monday night, but when duty calls, like it did for me earlier this week, I took the easy way out: a throw-on-and-go dress and a splashy pair of feather-trimmed sandals. Done and done! I wasn't alone in my style cheat as another friend turned up in classic black trousers, a simple white sweater--and crazy bling-y Miu Miu slides! Letting our feet do the talking facilitated cocktail swilling! So, now more outfit-making sandals I love: these glinty Chloe flats, these tasseled Sophia Webster slides, these vibrant raffia J.Crew sandals, these sparkly Badgley Mischka gladiators, these embroidered Guccis--and all these gem-studded, plume-perfect Miu Mius, above.

Tie-waist pants--A.K.A., this season's must-have--would be a godsend to my eight-year-old son, who regularly forgets (or misplaces) his school uniform belt. Last night I attended the Dior Cruise 2018 runway show, staged at the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve in Calabasas, California, a remote mountaintop where the Chumash Native American tribe lived for thousands of years and more recently where Little House on the Prairie and Gone With the Wind were filmed! The surrounding rolling hills, starring breathtaking vistas and valley oaks, also featured hot air balloons and a Hollywood-like Dior Sauvage sign lit up in sunset pastels. It would be an understatement to say the show, after party, headlined by Solange--and the clothes (the clothes!)--were spectacular! But you can see for yourself here.

If you're wild about stripes and mixing them up, then there's a good chance you'll love this Monse dress--or perhaps even more, its less expensive spin-off!
