Among the prominent trends showcased on New York Fashion Week's Spring 2025 runways, the big button down shirt is likely to find a lot of takers. Including me! Designer Maria McManus brought out the best over the weekend, with iterations pictured above and below while Proenza Schouler showed us what's to come, amply proportioned, next spring, last pic. Other compelling current options include these by Cos, J.CrewVeronica Beard (size way up!), Co, P.S. The large woven bags, above and below, are by Underwater Weaving Studio--and so, so good!

I think I changed about 18 times before going to a fashion event last night in New York. I vacillated between prints, and solids, a lace-trimmed Phillip Lim midi and a knee-length Khaite skirt until I finally settled on a ruffled Maison Mayle dress that felt like a second skin, along with my new Loeffler Randall fall boots (see pic here). The moment I arrived, I knew I had made the right choice. However, spotting my friend Dorsey's founder, Meg Strachan, in effortlessly chic jeans (jeans!) and a sleek Kahlmeyer blazer, upper left, triggered a pang of outfit envy. Meg's outfit made me realize my wardrobe could use more of those infallible NYC-ready classics: sophisticated clothes that not only work everywhere but command attention at a Fashion Week soiree. I'm referring specifically to these beauts from Toteme, The Row, Prada, Pixie Market, The Great, Zara, and Marant Etoile!

My sister texted the screenshot, above, from Paris a few months ago while shooting Loft's fall campaign, forecasting I'd want the horsebit-trimmed (and very Gucci-looking) cardigan in my life right about now. Of course, she was right. I tried it on yesterday and am hoping she won't miss it if it comes back to LA with me. It has a slight oversized fit (we wear size medium), and it's throw-on-and-go chic without anything underneath. Plus it's on sale for $53! My sister also alerted me to the Alexa Chung x Madewell collaboration launching today, which includes the impeccable suede blazer and western-inspired denim, below. Other new gems in her closet that I am coveting and potentially pinching from her: this striped Guest in Residence rugby (which she's wearing today!), these Favorite Daughter pintstriped trousers, this sumptuous Khaite bag, this Mango cut-out sweater, and these Row-like ruched black loafers from Black Suede Studio.

I snagged this suede-looking H&M coat--the last one in the store!--for $74 the other day and I swear it looks like one of the most expensive pieces I own. I refrained from posting it because it wasn't available, but now it's online for you too to scoop up and layer on this fall. Also new and noteworthy: this wool blend red skirt, this oversized coated jacket, this waxed twill jacket, this double breasted blazer, this coated drawstring jacket, and this striped sweater.

Given how many frequent flier miles I racked up the summer, it should come as no surprise then that both Malibu's Chili Cook Off and New York's US Open are on my long-weekend itinerary. I thought my wardrobe was ready for it all until this morning when I came across Shopbop's end-of-season sale featuring all kinds of new and ready-to-roll statements. Also included are some summer staples I wore to death, such as the Agua Bendita dress, above. I'm now coveting this leather-pocketed striped Staud sweater (total Loewe vibes, below!), this Posse vest (immediately below), this drop-dead red Caroline Constas, these pleated trouser-like Slvrlake jeans, these Rag & Bone forever-chic sandals, and this Heaven Mayhem belt (very Khaite!). There's truly a thousand more on-sale options here!

While some people amass bags or shoes, I have a penchant for collecting jackets. Thanks to LA's perpetually cool evenings, my habit thrives. Plus, it serves me well, because a good jacket is the ultimate (and easiest) remedy to any what-to-wear crisis. Around this time of year, before true jacket weather hits, my stockpiling begins. Here's the line-up so far: the Loro Piano-spirited shawl-collar, belted coat from H&M (above!), the red and long fleece Maje, below, the sleek gold-buttoned Anine Bing cashmere, the leopard Zara, this crazy Isabel Marant, and this statement Khaite.
