ahead of schedule
Monday, May 6
This Monday morning in May has me running ahead of clockwork, thanks to Shopbop's "Summer Sale." Yep, that's right: tons of hot-off-the-press pieces are (already!) up to 40% off. Justification for my buy-in: the Ulla Johnson dress ($252), above, the Johanna Ortiz bag and Cult Gaia mini, below, these rope-trimmed Beek sandals, these AGOLDE trouser shorts, the fringed Rabanne skirt, and the crochet Eleven Six dress, last pic. Stock up at the sprawling two-day sale here!
set point

A solid button-down and matching short set will still be a staple this summer, but maximum- volume prints will take things up a notch--or five! I'm going loud and proud with the Farm Rio, above, and would love to jump into these by Alemais, Cleobella and Figue. Happy Weekend (and almost summer)!

Chanel's Resort 2025 collection, which debuted on a Marseilles rooftop today, offered a peek into upcoming trends (peplum tops, choker necklaces, shift dresses) and cemented ones already in locked in for this summer, namely crochet and lace. With more in store, here are some terrific options from Sea New York, Doen and Miaou to buy right now and cruise for months to come!

great outfit weather
Wednesday, May 1
Leandra Cohen describes this time of year as "Great Outfit Weather." I'd add that it's "Great Under-$250 Outfit Weather," not only because we're wearing less layers, but we can get away with less and look more polished. Proof in the pics, below.

red alert
Tuesday, April 30
New York-based beauty insider Mimi Nguyen is known for her always-perfect lipstick-puckered pout, so it's no wonder she totes accessories that also tactically pop. For spring, it's all about a zingy scarlet shade, employed via a ruby-hued bag with neutrals (a Cos blazer and Everlane jeans) or a red Zara leather string belt, below, styled with a vintage Hermes trench. I'm all in--not only with a new red lip--but head-to-toe, with the fringed Devon Windsor dress and red pants, both below.
mother's little helper
Tuesday, April 30
Seriously, though, if we all had a dollar for every diaper changed, pancake flipped or load of laundry folded, we'd be billionaire-ing like nobody's business. All justification for a Mother's Day splurge, no? I personally think we each deserve a little extra sparkle, specifically the eye-popping Adina Reyter kind, which, as you know by now, is/has been permanently affixed to my neck and other body parts (see below)! So, I lined up a 20% Friends and Family discount off Adina Reyter jewelry through tomorrow, Wednesday May 1. Use the code MARLIENMDAY20 to save site-wide, plus see my edit here. Happy early Mother's Day!
