blue jean lady
Friday, April 5
Like the rest of us, LA-based celebrity stylist-turned-creative director Angela Fink is a blue--and black and white and pleated and loose-fitting--jean lady, possessing all kinds for every occasion , whether its a West Hollywood waltz or a Paris fashion show (second to last pic). However, there is one constant in her denim routine: an elegant trouser-like fit, which wields everywhere-chic that not even a subtle knee rip (above) could undermine. She also favors straight-leg silhouettes, specifically these by Mango, above, pleated AMO jeans (immediately below), AGOLDE (in black, pictured below, and indigo, last pic), Closed Official (for longer, lankier legs!), and Re/Done (which are a perfect stand in for The Row's just about sold-out pair, also here.) I could see this cool drawstring pair by Citizens of Humanity in her repertoire too!

big bites
Thursday, April 4
Dinner with my sister and her impeccably-dressed best friend, New York-based stylist Sarah Clary, always serves up a side of shopping, and last night's meal was no different. Before I tell you what we salivated over in between bites, I first must tell you what Sarah was wearing: this white midi skirt, an oversized grey blazer, a blue crew-neck sweater, and burgundy loafers. Picture this Prada vibe, and she wore this outfit on a shoot all day long. The shopping kicked off with the most excellently-cut Banana Republic cargo pants, above, that we all agreed we'd wear year around, along with the sharp boatneck top. I prompted them to want this Eddy Monetti print shirt that I bought in Milan last week (I showed them here). We moved on to Dries Van Noten as the designer just announced his retirement, and now debating this or this. The need for new lace came up, too: Sarah snapped up this H&M skirt, while I snagged the top. Coco is eyeing the Mango (styled over a blouse!), below. Naturally, we moved on to everything Khaite, and we all pounced on Source Unknown's dupe dress, below, for $125, and Pixie Market's $95 strapless, last pic!
what's cooking
Wednesday, April 3
My teenaged boys are off from school this week, which means my short-order cooking is eclipsing my Le Catch-ing. All good, though, because despite my time constraints, I've still managed to dig up some compelling wardrobe enhancers, namely the under-$250 sparkly lariat, above, by Elizabeth Cole (I also love the heart pendant!), and the best $50 dupes of The Row's Fall 2024 caged jelly shoes (also in black)--which are not even out yet! Also: these side-paneled cuffed jeans, which are about to be all the rage and this Tularosa fringed (under $250) dress.

The staggering number of inquiries about the jewel-collared jacket I recently posted on Instagram (above) is prompting me to answer to all here--it's an old J.Crew--and persuading me to pull the trigger on new wear-forever J. Crew styles, such as the fringed dress and beaded shirt, below!

rosy outlook
Monday, April 1
I am glad to see that the rosettes I've been sporting lately--by Rosewater House teamed with La Double J and Veronica Beard, see below--will keep thriving in my hot and sunny future. I love stylist Nicole Chavez's bloom-trimmed Same bikini, above (also cute in stripes!). Now contemplating this and this.

Only fitting that the first thing I throw on upon touchdown in Lake Como is a ME + EM one-shoulder dress: the fit is fantastic, the vibe suitably posh, and (shhh, don’t tell anyone!), stretchy-easy comfortable. I’m planning to stock up on a few more do-it-all’s, thinking this, this, this this and this! You can be sure to see them on me very soon. Until then, Ciao!

I kind of wouldn't mind throwing on my warm weather whites right now--despite the lack of warm weather. I'm loving Cos' set, above, and Doen's dress, below (with a chunky cardigan or oversized bomber right now?). Also good: this crochet Cult Gaia, these Staud flats, and this Khaite organza beauty.

I'm putting some new spring staples to the test this week and I'm happy to report they're holding up quite successfully, as you can glean from these candid snaps here! Above, I'm wearing low-rise Madewell jeans, a sheer (sold out) Zara sweater with pointy-toe Toteme flats and The Row bag. The feather-light Rosewater blouse, below, with a detachable floral pin is going to keep giving throughout summer and same goes for the sequin-flecked Veronica Beard jacket, last pic. The Adina Reyter and Dorsey baubles never come off!
