daily diamonds
Monday, December 11
I whipped out my latest Substack last night, rife with slam-dunk, last-minute gift ideas and special discounts like 20% off my daily diamonds from Adina Reyter, above. I also guest-starred as Chairish's Weekend Editor and curated a wish list of everything I want in my house from the mid-century desk lamp to the Slim Aarons print, both below. There is also the studded Zara that would punctuate any outfit, the button-up Mother Denim sweater perfect for the slopes, the on-sale heat-proof Sea New York belted coat, all on my Santa list!

This week's back to back lunches and dinners have required more outfit changes than usual but the non-stop sparkles I've been sporting on my neck--specifically the stack here by Sequin NYC--have remained the same. The statement-making power has literally allowed me to throw on a one-and-done blazer or blouse and whisk me out the door. Thinking I could gift a few friends some of these baubles, like this $138 lariat, this pendant necklace and these pearls, all 25% off (!) through 12/10--along with the ability to go, go, and go! Check out all the options here!
down to the last details
Thursday, December 7
While I was pleased to hear during this morning's parent/teacher conference that my son is developing "a sharp eye for details," I couldn't help but wonder why he doesn't seem to notice a dirty sock on the floor of his room at home. Hmmm, go figure. Perhaps he inherited this selective trait from me, as I could be better at paying attention to details and remembering how little things can make a huge difference, particularly when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. Parisian stylist Sylvie Mus makes this habit look easy, employing accessories in clever, unexpected ways, such as a Lie gold ring layered on a leather glove and a pearl anklet over sheer tights. Sometimes the elements she employs are basic, whether it's a clean white turtleneck that stands out, a studded Khaite statement belt, or simply a sweater tied around her neck to look like a scarf. Some fine details I'm paying attention to: this Jenny Bird choker and these red Madewell socks.

twin pact
Tuesday, December 5
There was time when I would sneak into my twin sister's room, scared of ghosts or thunder or both, and beg to sleep in her bed. Most of the time she'd let me. Some nights, she would negotiate payback: make her bed in the morning or load the dishwasher after dinner, and if I agreed to her terms, she'd let me. Fast forward to present day and our I-scratch-your-back-you-scratch-mine terms of agreement remains: shoot my picture in exchange for clothing in my closet. Thankfully, this deal works pretty much every time, no dishwashing included. The latest transaction: she took my pic in her berry-filled garden over the weekend and repossessed my just-acquired Alex Mill cardigan, above--and then snapped up the scarf, below, this reversible jacket and this fair isle turtleneck in the gift guide I curated on Alex Mill's website. Um, I think she got the better end of the deal!

I spent pretty much the entire weekend holiday shopping--for myself! In no particular order I self-gifted this Khaite-spirited Madewell belt (that's so good it's backordered till March 2024!!!), the $42 H&M vase, above, that will soon take up residence on my kitchen counter, the pleated Anine Bing jeans, below, which look nothing like the other denim jammed in my closet, this Zara knit inspired by the tie-it-on-and-go styling trend, last pic, and these super sleek sneakers from The Row, which, even though they are sneakers, will be among the nicest shoes I own! Proper gift guide for you coming soon, I promise. P.S. Should you feel inclined, you can treat yourself too with an extra 25% off at Shopbop!
save of the day

Not a day goes without a compliment (or five) on my never-take-off necklace stack, and I have Adina Reyter to thank for that. Her jewelry is not only stay-on easy, but statement-making easy. And today and tomorrow, it's also gift-giving easy, because Le Catch readers can get 20% off today with the code MARLIEN20. See all of my favorite pieces here. You're welcome!
