let the games begin
Monday, November 20
It's Monday before Thanksgiving, but it actually feels more like Black Friday, thanks to Shopbop's just-launched 25%-off sale, chock full of (street-style) chicness. Highlights include Linh Niller Skvortsova 's ALC mini skirt, above, and Lindsay Weiss' Citizens of Humanity jeans, below. Also zesty (as my 14-year-old would say): these Loeffler Randall knee-high boots, these Staud pleated trousers, this Velvet puffer jacket, these Mother jeans, and these elegantly versatile Sam Edelman pumps. Shop--and save 25%--here!

Friday, November 17
I don't have a lick of Thanksgiving food in my fridge yet, but I can already indulge myself in 24S Black Friday sale TODAY--kicking off one week early--offering 30% off full priced styles (use the code BLACKFRIDAY30. I'm eyeing decadent dresses from Zimmerman, including the lovely lace above, the never-goes-on-sale Miu Miu, below, these Isabel Marant boots (my sis has them and somehow they make her legs look longer and leaner, I swear!), these Valentino rock stud sandals, this do-it-all Anine Bing blazer and this sleek Khaite dress. Help yourself to more treats here!

Waze and an Uber whisked me across the 405 in the pelting rain last night for a San Vicente Bungalows dinner at with Metier's designer Melissa Morris, but my one-and-done Chloe cardigan also greased the (GRWM) wheels--stylishly fast. It's key to have these instant-glam pieces to wield at a moment's notice, and I wrote about some of the latest and greatest in my most recent Substack, but last night reminded me that a sole statement top can go a long (bumper to bumper along Sunset Boulevard) way. Plus, when you're sitting at a dinner table, what's on top is what's on tap! Some prime examples: Jen Azoulay's Aligne blouse, above, and Angie Smith's mesh Free People top, below. I'd like to make my own statement in this Simkhai sweater, this embellished Veronica Beard, and this lacy Aknvas. P.S. There are tons of terrific options at 30% off at Matches just-launched sale.

storm prep
Wednesday, November 15
Initially forecast as a super-soaking atmospheric river poised to wreak havoc across California, the impending storm is now being described as a classic Gulf of Alaska low. Whatever it's called, I know that a coat is 100% required for the next few days, and I am looking to London-based Hannah Desai for rain-proof style inspo. She deftly opts for ankle-grazing, statement-making maxi coats that not only offer head-to-toe coverage but render whatever you're wearing underneath pretty much irrelevant. Good idea! I like these options from H&M (above that looks a lot like The Row), Anine Bing, Toteme, Pixie Market, Cos and The Frankie Shop. I also want to warm things up in the scarf-trimmed Favorite Daughter, croc-effect Frankie Shop trousers and knee-high Cos boots (and, why not, the sequin skirt, too)!

Shopbop's just-launched 3-day sale is my kind of early bird special. Dig in here!

As we board the bullet train to Busy-ville, its high season currently in full swing, Dakota Johnson quietly reminds us that all we need is head-to-toe black, namely this Reiss pea coat, this slit-skirt, knee-high boots and this Dries Van Noten gold embellished bag. Also essential for me: stay-on, outfit-polishing, easy to layer (and affordable) jewelry from Lie Studio, below.
new yorking
Monday, November 13
Ask my friends and they will tell you I've mastered the art of a weekend trip. I chronicled everything I crammed in on a recent 48-hour getaway to NYC (think 7 restaurants, 40 mile bike-rides, countless croissants, etc) in my Substack, but I also shared additional fall-perfect styling tips and other juicy details on my days filled with several outfit changes in a Doen Journal. Read all about it here--and snag some of the latest pieces, like the Faye top, above, and the Davis coat, below, before it all sells out like usual!
a weekend off
Friday, November 10
Back to back work dinners this week and a luncheon for 30 chez moi today has me looking forward to an anti-social weekend that includes lying on the living room sofa, wrapped up in the wool shearling throw, above, reading this book, redeeming my Real Real credit, holiday shopping here, and making plans to wear the pearl-trimmed party dress, below. If I do venture out of my house, my outfit would look something like below, easy but still stylish, with the Citizens of Humanity cargo pants (truly the best), Weejuns loafers, the Toteme scarf jacket (less expensive version here and here), the Altuzarra sweater, below, and Khaite belt. Happy Weekend!
