For me, summer usually comes with the challenge of finding the newest, most flattering white jeans. But this season it's all about an off-white pair, a shade that looks refreshingly different, more sophisticated, and, I think, more flattering! Designers like Acne Studios and Gucci are also crazy for this creamy-colored denim--and they along with others are making my jean-finding mission a lot easier this time around! My cream of the crop picks come from Levi's, Mother, Rachel Comey, Citizens of Humanity, and Free People.
An amazing riff on Gucci's current season sweatshirt--at an amazing price!

In my mind the trends that come back in over and over again are the ones that work. Case in point: this spring's back-in therefore must-have straight-leg jeans. These work because they give the illusion of a taller, slimmer figure, and who doesn't want that?? Check out these straight-out stylish pairs by Frame, Topshop, Madewell, 7 For All Mankind, J.Crew, and Citizens of Humanity.
Something just made my spring shopping significantly easier: the J.Crew Style Guide, because a substantial portion of what I want to wear next season (and later) is contained inside! For starters, the cooly re-invented khaki pants, above, that are inspired by the cultish Rayner wide-leg jeans). I love the metallic sandals featured with them too! My other favorites also happen to be fresh takes on wardrobe classics, including these striped heels, this off-duty linen tee, these statement-making sunglasses (last pic), this striped sweater (below), this cotton linen button-down (as sexy over a bikini as with a pair of jeans), these attention-getting chandelier earrings and this grey feather-trimmed top. You can check it all out for yourself here.
The double layered ruffle sleeve sweetens the deal here!
1. Club Monaco ruffled sleeve sweater,
2. Shrimps faux fur trimmed crochet coat,

In Paris this week, Moscow-based Miroslava Duma is sticking to a very American jeans-and-tee uniform. Of course, she infuses her classic look with some tres chic accents, including statement jackets and coats. (See yesterday's post for where to buy these invaluable pieces.) And she proves that petites can pull of cropped wide leg jeans with aplomb! Check out these ideal styles from Topshop, Paige Denim and Citizens of Humanity. Taller types would do well with these pairs by Rag & Bone, M.i.H, and Rachel Comey.
