An article in the Wall Street Journal over the weekend about the resurgence of vintage denim posed the question: "Is this the beginning of the end of skinny jeans?" Regarding that question, my guess is no. But lately I have been wishing I had never thrown out my Levi's 501's from yesteryear, which looked similar to the ones in the above picture. I've also been on the hunt for some vintage-looking--i.e., looser-fitting, straight-leg, faded wash--replacements. My latest finds include these from J.Crew (30% off!), 6397, Citizens of Humanity, 7 For All Mankind (or these) Victoria Beckham and, of course, Levi's.

My five-year-old son wanted to wear something camouflage for Halloween (so he's a special ops commando force ninja soldier, naturally). Meanwhile, I'd like to dress up with this faux fur camo bag!

2. Warehouse boucle zipper trimmed coat,
3. Current/Elliott jeans,
4. Monki faux fur cross body bag,

Any hesitation about wearing white jeans into the fall (and winter) should be assuaged by these pics, which also nicely demonstrate how to wear them. With beefy beautiful sweaters like this (25% off), this and this. With sexy stilettos or boots. With cozy, cold-proof layers. I also prefer a mid- to heavy-weight white denim jean, such as these by Citizens of Humanity (60% off!), Current/Elliott, Victoria Beckham and AG. Winter white perfection!
