For me, one of the best things about Aspen is the people I randomly meet on chair lifts. Among the highlights: a former Swiss chef turned ski instructor, who is also Matsuhisa's landlord; a 12-year-old boy from Caracas, Venezuela, who had never seen snow before; a Mardi Gras bead-wearing local ski bum who told me how to extend the life of hand-warmers (put them in an air-tight Ziploc bag); another ski instructor who used to be the CTO at Apple, and a USC college freshman from New York City, who turned me on to Dior's just-launched . Poised to be a cult product, if not already, these lip glosses make, plain and simple, your lips look sexy! Even on the ski slopes! They're infused with nourishing and softening cherry oil (a mountain-air must) and leave a glossy finish that, I swear enhances the shape of your lips. I love the Cherry hue, I mean, LOVE!
I showed up to a 6AM photo shoot in New York this week with major jet lag--and major eye bags to go with! But, thankfully, this was no challenge for the on-set makeup artist, who whipped out the most fatigue-erasing but natural-looking foundation ever, one that I've never used before and will now use going forward: . (She told me that a recent poll of professional makeup artists ranked it the BEST of all of the rest, or something like that--it was 3AM my time, after all.) Then, on top of that, she applied what could be the coup de grace: , which literally made my skin brighter, glowier, and dewier in one single instant. It was like magic (or the appearance of 8 hours of sleep), I swear! Other tools in her photo-ready arsenal: (for much-needed texture and body) and (also used by Lauren Santo Domingo, above). And (almost) just like that, I was ready to go (you will see the results in February).Photo:
