I've never been the type to wear sweatpants out in public (except to the gym), but the cool jogger-inspired pants that are everywhere right now have me re-thinking this. More convincing evidence: the above picture perfectly demonstrates how joggers are a legit everyday-chic alternative to jeans. Plus, they could even work into night, paired with ankle boots or high heel sandals. I could see myself running around in these joggers by , , , , and .
Up in San Francisco yesterday while working on a project (details to come soon!), I decided I needed a pair of wide leg trousers. This conclusion was precipitated by my working side by side with a very chic someone, who was sporting black high waisted 3.1 Phillip Lim wide leg pants from several years ago. They were leg-lengthening, style-enhancing, everything-flattering. They were classic, polished, sophisticated, fresh-looking, and paired with a denim button-down blouse as they were yesterday, pure perfection. So far my (pant)hunt has turned up these guys from , , , and --and I'd love to wear them all!
This pretty lace vintage-looking kimono reminds me of an old treasured Indonesian blouse--a kebaya--my mother gave me years ago and that I now wear only sparingly because I am afraid it will fall apart. I'm thinking this could sub in now and then, whether over a bikini or an evening-ready silk camisole, like this.
