A friend of mine is heading to Copenhagen this afternoon for four days, prepped with a long list of Danish design to-do's, prayers to get into Noma, and a carry-on. Her packing mandate: no bulk! To keep the cold at bay, she packed layer-friendly, lighter-weight knits, knowing that all she has to do to look stylish throughout is...tuck in her sweater! A friend from London recently DM'ed me, wondering if I had any easy-to-layer tissue-thin turtlenecks to recommend. Specifically, she wanted one she could wear under dresses like this and this. While looking for some good options and finding these by Veronica Beard, Theory, 1901, and Alex Mill, I came across creative director Jen Azoulay rocking not only a versatile knit turtleneck by Cos, but an insanely chic sautoir Ginette pearl necklace. (P.S. She also wears it in her hair like a ponytail holder!) Immediately, my search pivoted to necklaces that I could top turtlenecks with and then some and I landed on these gems by Jennifer Zeuner, Lizzie Fortunato, and Brinker & Eliza.

My friends make fun of me because I tend to wear lots (and lots!) of layers when it's cold outside. Like, maybe too many for most people, but I just like being on the warm side. This might explain why I'm particularly drawn to this season's knit dress trend. It's basically head-to-toe warmth and designed for laissez-faire layering--plus delivers extra style points and snugness. What's not to love?? There are also so many variations, suitable for every mood and temperature swing. Case(s) in point: this striped Jacquemus dress (similar to below), this gorgeous go-anywhere Anna Quan ribbed slip-on, this puff-sleeve Ulla Johnson mini, this sexy cashmere Jonathan Simkhai, and this Rixo leopard-print midi in the last pic (made from jersey but looks like knit, so good for mild days, plus figure forgiving, too!).
