A fast and easy way to spring up(date) an outfit: a ruffled statement blouse, such as the one, above, by . I think these flirty, playful (and on trend) tops go hand in hand with spring's sunny vibe, especially these pretties by , , , , , and .

It may be Monday but I have Saturday night on my mind--and the best way to dress for it. This past Saturday was a biggie for me: Tequila! Dancing! Surprise Taylor Swift performance! More tequila! More dancing! And it was a learning lesson: Partying into the wee hours calls for a thoroughly party-worthy dress. Mine was not. I wish I could do it all over again and boogie down in one of these festive frocks by , , , , , and . Another radical idea: skipping the dress and wearing a head-turning top like the lace one, above, with fun pants.
Seems like graphic tees came and went--and just came back again! What makes them slightly different this time around is that they look vintage and distressed, as if they've been part of your off-duty wardrobe for years. These special t-shirts had a strong showing over the weekend in Paris, primarily as foils to more sophisticated designer pieces (think head-turning statement outerwear, shoes and bags). As you'd expect, this high-low mix works for me, and I'd jump on this trend with these stylish (more subdued) tees by , , , and (above).
The t-shirt, our most tried-and-true warm weather staple, will get an upgrade this spring. Look for the new and improved versions to feature unexpected flourishes, demure cut-outs, asymmetric and cropped silhouettes--and yet remain as versatile as ever. My favorites include this one-shouldered , this tie-trimmed , this cut-out , this knotted , this slit-sleeved , this scalloped , this pleated back , this frayed and this ruffle-accented .
Something just made my spring shopping significantly easier: the J.Crew Style Guide, because a substantial portion of what I want to wear next season (and later) is contained inside! For starters, the cooly re-invented , above, that are inspired by the cultish ). I love the featured with them too! My other favorites also happen to be fresh takes on wardrobe classics, including these , this off-duty , these statement-making (last pic), this (below), this cotton linen (as sexy over a bikini as with a pair of jeans), these attention-getting chandelier and this grey .
