I miss meandering through the Marais and stumbling into Sandro and scoring! Well, at least, I can do it virtually now--and do it right! Before it's too late, I thought I should mention that a sexy top is mandatory this summer. This essential will instantly elevate an everyday pair of pants or shorts and render any outfit super hot! Keep in mind, these are tops that can also be worn straight into fall, underneath a blazer or an oversized cardigan. I love Elliette's coy open-back blouse, below, this Alix asymmetrical tank, this one-shoulder The Line by K bodysuit, this cut-out Reformation, this halterneck Bottega Veneta, and this Nicholas vintage-looking rib-knit bodysuit. I've been a regular at Bar Pitti in Manhattan since the late '90s, and while I was there last week, feasting on my usual funghi saltati, I could not help but feel like I was back in the late '90s. Because pretty much every female diner there was wearing a slip dress! And now I am game to give it a go again, too. It's the ideal dress for these humid summer days, and I love how it's so easy to layer with an oversized cardigan, sweater, hoodie or blazer. Both model Amalie Moosgaard, above, and Jenny Walton, below are sporting Vince's (also here) navy dress. Several years ago on a photo shoot I fell in love with a stylist's dress. It was effortlessly chic, ready for work and play. It was by Merlette.
