knit and tell
Tuesday, November 18
Like everyone else in LA, the rain had me completely off the rails. A strong storm and suddenly I’m dressing like I live in Iceland instead of a city where winter tops out at 50 degrees. But honestly? I loved every soggy second of it—because true sweater weather here is rare. So, of course, I wanted to change my sweater not once, not twice, but three times yesterday—just to take advantage of every chilly hour. Below, a few of the sweaters I was thrilled to finally unveil, including the Alex Mill men's stripes, the layered Cos (the high-neck is sooo good and toasty!) and embellished Zara—and a couple more I’m hoping the next wave of drizzle gives me an excuse to slip into: the layered Peche, this crochet Farm Rio, the funnel-neck CO and the belted Modern Citizen. Another sweater storm is poised to hit LA on Thursday, so be prepared! (P.S. I am busting out new statement belts too, pictured!)

lazy dressing
Monday, November 17
Confession: my holiday style strategy this year involves… doing less. Much less. As in one-and-done dressing—the kind where a single, standout piece does all the heavy lifting while I glide into the party looking like I tried (I didn’t). Because here’s the truth: the calendar is already packed and it's not even Thanksgiving yet, my energy is limited, and I refuse to spend 45 minutes negotiating with a sequin skirt that has its own agenda. My lackadaisical approach is surprisingly liberating. Instead of assembling a head-to-toe masterpiece, I just slip on one spectacular thing and let it do its thing. So yes, call it strategic minimalism or just seasonal survival. Either way, it's working for me, and I’ll be wearing the following rely-on-me pieces on repeat, merrily (and effortlessly) all season long: Heaven Mayhem's statement necklace, Sea's flowy sheer silk top and bow-trimmed pajama top (can you believe the cuteness?), The Reformation lace skirt and fancy pants, Tanya Taylor's feather-trimmed blouse and the big-time Prada, last pic. Above: Boden's fur-tipped coat (remove the fur collar and wear the coat indoors, duster style!)

onion rings, aliens and tuxedo tops
Friday, November 14
Last night marked my official kickoff to holiday–dinner season. Tessa Tran of Chan Luu gathered a chic little crew at Jar in Los Angeles—the kind of warm, wood–paneled, softly-lit hideaway that instantly makes you want to check out other people, linger in your banquette, and pretend you're in say... Manhattan. And oh, the onion rings! Perfectly crisp halos of joy. The conversation ricocheted from fashion to full-blown philosophical to… well, whatever category 31/Atlas falls into. (No one at the table knew what I was talking about, which made me (A) question the algorithm that powers my Instagram feed and (B) consider whether I’ve slipped into a niche corner of the internet that I may never find my way out of.) Then, naturally, we detoured into aliens, followed by the new-to-me drama of toddler facial sheet masks (!) —a controversy I had zero prior knowledge of. And because it was a fashionista–heavy fête, the talk eventually turned to going-out tops—specifically, which ones will define this season. Everyone had an opinion; everyone was right (this, this, this and this. While we would all love to throw on one of the Charvet x Chanel tux tops, above, the price tag is prohibitive. But the one thing we didn’t debate? What to wear on the bottom. The entire table arrived in Chan Luu’s drawstring silk pants--a unanimous masterstroke. They’re pajama-level comfortable yet evening-ready, and they somehow work with everything from sequined camisoles to slouchy knits. A holiday hero if I’ve ever met one. Have a great get-ready-for-the-holidays weekend!

gooping it up
Thursday, November 13
Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a GOOP party last night at the Chateau Marmont (the penthouse, of course), with the invite calling for cocktail attire. In true LA fashion, that translated to a mix of jeans, leather jackets, and the occasional silk dress. Chalk it up to the 5PM start time—or the reality of navigating Hollywood traffic straight from the day’s to-dos. Still, everyone looked great in that easy, unfussy way LA does best. Denim dressed up with heels, leather jackets (lots of leather, pretty much in this ONE brand!), and just enough polish to make it feel special without trying too hard. I opted for a Gwyn blazer (naturally), a Chloe blouse, my usual Madewell jeans, this Aureum statement belt, and Chanel patent-leather pumps. Other day-to-night pieces that would have made the cut, all below: the Charvet x Chanel inspired And Other Stories silk tuxedo blouse, the pinstriped Alex Mill (love their new 11/10 vibrant knits, BTW), Zara's suede jacket (yum), and H&M (yes, head-to-toe).
today's gift
Wednesday, November 12
I’ve got two of my dearest—and healthiest—friends in town, staying with me this week: energy healer Jakki Leonardini and wellness coach Sarah Wragge. They’ve turned my house into a high-vibe haven, and I’m so into it. Today’s itinerary is basically my dream “feel-good” LA day: an early-morning outdoor workout in my new Travis Mathew's suck-it-all-in set, above, a long lunch at Leora, cream-topped Maru coffees (because balance), a La Double J trunk show in Beverly Hills with girlfriends, capped off with a GOOP cocktail party at the Chateau Marmont hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow herself. A true gift in every sense. Speaking of gifts, I just polished off my holiday gift guide Substack this morning—packed with the coolest, most covetable finds for everyone on your list (and maybe a few for yourself). You can find it here. Another gift idea: the Designer Sale at Shopbop, on now for three days only. You're welcome!
denim differences
Tuesday, November 11
The other day I spent a few hours meandering around SoHo, hunting for the perfect something, anything—that elusive score just waiting for me in plain sight. When I came back to the apartment, shopping bags in tow, my sister was perched on the sofa, ready for the big reveal. I pulled out my prize, below: a perfectly-fitting pair of winter-white jeans. She blinked. “That’s it?” she asked, confused, a little crestfallen, as if I’d just pulled out, I don't know, a pair of dirty socks. Her reaction stuck with me though (however, it should be said that the satin-y finish elevates these white jeans, just saying, more sizes here!). So lately, I’ve been on a mission to find denim that’s anything but a shrug—pieces that make my sister say that’s super cute--along with their low-key extras. Let's start with Mother Denim's chaps-like jeans, the buttoned-waistband, the corduroy trimmed, and the crazy fringe. Also good: the Roxanne Assoulin chain belt, above, the B-Low The Belt crystal waist-cincher (last pic), these belted Alex Mill jeans, and these embroidered Farm Rio.
alexa chung x madewell
Monday, November 10
A few days ago in New York, I got a sneak peek at the just-launched Alexa Chung for Madewell collection—and even better, I met Alexa herself (effortlessly cool, naturally) wearing this sheer dress and this horsebit link (very vintage Gucci-looking) belt from the line. The collection is a love letter to New York City and Alexa's own treasure-trove of vintage finds: lace-trimmed slips, crisp and truly perfect striped blouses, and easy, borrowed-from-the-boys layers that feel like they've lived a life or two already. It's downtown cool distilled—wearable, timeless, and just the right amount of undone. I love the belt (nearly sold out, of course!), the fringe leather jacket (not too fringe-y!), this classic pea coat, this ribbed-trim sweater, and, all day every day this hooded sweatshirt. Shop the entire collection here!
