un peu de paris
Monday, October 13
I spent the weekend in Paris, catching up with family (lucky ducks!) and friends, and it was, pretty parfait. From runs through the Jardin des Tuileries and a quick spin through Le Bon Marché to sole meunière at Le Voltaire (plus soba at Yen, steak au poivre at Le Petit Vendôme, and Dreamin Man's flat whites), every moment felt quintessentially Parisian. In between? Shopping, naturellement! (Stay tuned—my Substack will have all the granular details!) My favorite souvenirs: the vintage Chanel tie-neck blouse layered under a TWP blazer, above, the crisp Rubirosa shirt, below, and a newfound conviction that every outfit deserves a French flourish like this (last pic), this, this, or these. Also, these incredibly soft Repetto jazz shoes in Swan Beige that make every errand feel like a promenade along the Seine. I came home inspired to lean into polished, feminine pieces like this Kika Vargas, this, this, and this. All très wearable, all très me!

In between biking along the canals, musuem-hopping and consuming our body weight in stroopwafels, my sister and I somehow managed to squeeze in some shopping. Not a lot--just the bare minimum packed with most essential stops. First up: Love Stories, the beloved Amsterdam-based lingerie and loungewear brand that perfectly captures Dutch cool—relaxed and light-hearted, but with an edgy wink, pics below. Since bras are no longer considered underwear (see Prada Spring 2026, Miu Miu, and Khaite making them a legit going-out top, or in my case, a peek-a-boo one), this stop felt more urgent than all the rest. Obviously, we scored, with black sequin and lace/leopard print options, along with a double-breasted cardigan and beaded skirt. We popped into Arket and decided to buy/share this perfect pair of blue corduroys and the red polo, below. Of course, we brought and shared our own fall favorites from home, including my embellished TWP blouse, last pic. Off to Paris now!
going dutch
Wednesday, October 8
Amsterdam in October has a mood—a very specific damp, grey, low-ceiling kind of mood that makes you feel like you’re living inside a Vermeer painting… if Vermeer had a thing for puffers. Sadly, my current look is reading more Michelin Man Visits the Rijksmuseum than Girl with a Pearl Earring. I packed a rotation of jackets to stack and shuffle depending on how dramatic the clouds decide to be: a Nour Hammour leather jacket (which my sister already stole from me), a Donni chino jacket (above, the satin blue collar and cuffs add such a good pop), a tie-neck checked jacket by Cos, below (I also love the Favorite Daughter version) , and a lightweight trench (a surprisingly chic combo when you’re dodging bikes and puddles).

The quick Sunday recap: I scrolled, screenshotted, and repeated—Paris Fashion Week completely hikacked my IG feed--and I am not that mad about it. Chloe and Celine’s whimsical florals had me rethinking all the solids in my rotation, and now I’m dreaming of small spring 2026 updates with some big right-now impact: a round belt buckle (a la Dior) like this or this, some Celine-inspired white jazz shoes and Miu Miu-spirited boat shoes, an outfit-making leather lanyard, vintage Galliano, above, and a red button-down to inject a little future-ready verve. P.S. I also published a Substack yesterday, featuring fall fashion finds under $300. Read up here!

trust us
Friday, October 3
Back in my Lucky magazine days, I was part of the editorial brainstorms where we’d all weigh in on the next big thing—whether it was a bag shape, a boot height, or a skirt silhouette. The end result always felt like insider intel whispered straight from the fashion front lines. Fast-forward to now: Paris runways and the surrounding street style scene are essentially serving up the same crystal ball. My IG feed is essentially a preview of what I’ll be coveting/wearing six months from now: Color-blocking primary colors (red, yellow, blue), 80s' Capezio-like shoes (from Celine to Larroude), drapey capes (Attersee, above, and this under-$100 wrap)—it’s like watching my fashion future unfold in real time. The fun part? We all get to shop the “Trust Us” moment now, before it goes fully mainstream. Which means staking claim to those harbingers-of-what’s-next pieces—before they’re everywhere (or gone!), starting with statement skirts (feathers, lace , fringed, and sequins), stand-alone anoraks (this, this and this, or just a zip-up knit pretending to be one), tie-blouses (chambray and silk and on sale), pink anything (jacket, party dress, everyday blouse), and keyhole silhouettes (yes and yes) a la Jil Sander and Prada. Happy Friday!

In between steak frites at Chez Allard and coffee at Dreamin Man, Rubirosas is Paris' buzzy new must-see. Lauren Rubinski, known for her jewelry, has traded baubles for buttery moccasins, crisp shirts, and luxe pajamas—pieces inspired by her ancestor Ludovic Élazar Rubinski, who once supplied the Vatican’s clergy with poplin. But here's the thing: button-down shirts like these aren’t just pristine—they’re essential. And when it comes to my uniform, details are everything—and these are the ones worth coveting from With Nothing Underneath (the exaggerated cuffs!), the stretch poplin tie-waist Simon Miller, this vintage-inspired stand collared AYR, and this classic Polo Ralph Lauren.

paris prime time
Wednesday, October 1
Paris Fashion Week is more than runway spectacles—it’s also a glimpse into the closets of the chicest Parisians. What I'm loving most: the dominance of muted palettes broken by a single decisive pop of color (like a bright knit), all kinds of stripes (Reformation has the best Miu Miu riffs), and accessories that punctuate (note Celine's bamboo initial pendant making a comeback--find a good inexpensive dupe here!). To channel the Gallic energy, I am inspired to add some standout pieces that shift everything around them, such as the houndstooth blouson jacket by The Frankie Shop, above, this very-Hermes looking chain print skirt (I'm actually wearing it today!), this faux leather Asos jacket, this Heirlome tunic (a fave of Lauren Santo Domingo), and this Cara Cara sweater/jacket hybrid. P.S. One of my most power-shifting denim skirts by Tory Burch is 25% off (last pic), along with this chain-trimmed crewneck, and this mirrored statement skirt.
