the perfect red
Wednesday, March 7
There's no better magic than luscious red lips and there's no better proof than French model/designer Jeanne Damas' signature crimson pout. Her secret: Mixing various shades of red lipstick (MAC Viva Glam and Russian Red, to be exact) and applying it with her fingers over her lips for a more natural effect. I'm pulling off my own "natural" version right now with Beautycounter's new Red Color Intense, a bold, lip-plumping, super flattering scarlet-coral hue that's made from a safe plant-based formula. It has the best matte finish and goes from day to night. And I don't even need to use my fingers to make it happen!

paris theater
Monday, March 5
While Hollywood served up only in-the-movies kind of glamour last night (Lupita Nyong! Jennifer Lawrence! Gal Gadot!), Paris offered its own compelling fashion line-up over the weekend, featuring stylish looks we can (thankfully) make a reality. The stars of Paris Fashion Week: French Vogue's editors, above, who wear easy-to-emulate outfits founded in everyday-ready and enduringly-chic staples. Currently, these staples include perfectly faded, straight-legged indigo like this, this and this, scrunchy neutral boots such as these and these, menswear-inspired blazers like this, this, and this, and shearling jackets. I like these by Topshop, Coach 1941, J.O.A. and Maje. Last but not least, a classic neutral-colored sweater is, bien sur, a must! I'd French out in these by J.Crew, Nude, Equipment and MiH Jeans.

veronica beard in LA
Thursday, March 1
As you may know, I'm a huge fan of the New York-based clothing line Veronica Beard and its founders, Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard (they are sisters in law!). Every season something new from the duo makes it into my weekly rotation. And this spring is no different, with the just-out check print top and skirt I'm wearing, above. As the Veronicas recently opened their first LA store, they asked me to share some of my favorite spots in the city. Read all about them here, plus shop my faves from their latest collection.

shopbopping
Tuesday, February 27
I jumped the gun and bought my first new super cute spring bag yesterday--Clare V's Pot de Miel, above. Lucky for you, it's available today at a discount, thanks to Shopbop's sale. (Spend $200+, get 15% off, spend $500, get 20% off, spend $800, get 25% off!) Other great spring pieces I'd like to get my paws on include this Backstage one-shoulder dress, this Ulla Johnson statement blouse, this floral Alexis mini, these pom pom-trimmed Joie sandals, these spring-perfect Re/Done faded jeans, and this pretty Rhode Resort dress. Check it all out here.
puffed up
Monday, February 26
On the snowy slopes of the Sierra last week, I spotted numerous puffer jackets equally suitable for chic city streets sans skis. Some that would stand up to the cold and camera flashes include these by Mango, Ganni, Hilfiger Collection (below), Perfect Moment, Asos (this one too!) and Topshop.
winter sale-ing
Thursday, February 22
The stuff that street style stars are made of are up for (discounted!) grabs at Nordstrom right now, through February 25. I'm talking major Burberry statements, similar to the coat, above, along with this sweater and this turtleneck. Also noteworthy: these perfect Frame jeans (60% off!), this vacay-ready Sam Edelman straw tote, these pretty Alexandre Birman sandals, this everyday-chic Rebecca Minkoff striped sweater, and this one-shoulder-chic Robert Rodriguez top. Check it all out here.
t-shirts and blazers
Tuesday, February 20
I love how Lauren Santo Domingo, above at London Fashion Week, adapts her American flair (casual t-shirt) to English prim and proper (sharp blazer). It's a winning combination, and others are succeeding at it, too (below). Back on this side of the pond, I'd like to execute with these tees by Madeworn, Paradised, Pam & Gela, and Courreges, along with these polished blazers by Ganni, Isabel Marant, Tibi, and Topshop.
cool culottes
Monday, February 19
An al fresco dinner at Nobu in Malibu the other night called for something cool, more sophisticated than jeans and yet also warm. Enter these patent leather culottes that would not only nail Nobu but the office as well. And the price is pretty good, too!
