LE CATCH

My latest secret weapon in battling the-what-do-I-wear-today predicament is so obvious, so easy to throw on, and, for some reason up until recently, so underemployed. The oversized button-down, of course! I pair it with jeans, along with cute, feminine-leaning flats and my Clare V basket tote to successfully stylish, louche yet alluring effect. I recommend stockpiling a few, such as these by MiH, Stateside, Equipment and Vince.

A beach chaise lounge in front of Be Tulum Hotel might just be the best place on earth for swimsuit shopping. When I was there a week ago, I witnessed an expertly curated assortment of stylish, right-now bikinis and one-pieces, thanks to other sunbathing hotel guests, and I even snapped up some on the spot. (Thank goodness for mobile shopping!) Clearly, spring has not arrived yet, with more snow blanketing the Northeast and rain storming in the west. My classic black Christian Louboutin pointy-toe stilettos have yet to fail me, but they'll be taking a breather for a bit while I rotate in some unexpectedly bold-hued heels this spring. Inspired by stylish European girls, who are stepping out in various rainbow colors, I'd like to take a leap (and punctuate my denim!) in any of these styles by Jimmy Choo, Sam Edelman, Steve Madden, Manolo Blahnik, and Gianvito Rossi.

My friends know that I'll happily whirl through multiple outfit changes per day, but there are (rare!) times when I just want to stay in my pajamas from sunrise to the next. For these occasions, I'm now thinking I might try this: throwing on an easy, breezy (read: nightgown-like) slip dress with a structured blazer and casual sandals.
