Every summer day feels like a special occasion to me--an opportunity to relish the sunshine and its serotonin-boosting effects even when I am doing the usual year-round city grind. Dressing for the occasion is also simple: light layers, laid-back silhouettes and throw-on-and-go one-and-doner's. It's only mid-June but it looks as if 27-year-old Lisbon-based Vicky Montanari has already lapped up a whole summer and a half! I think the universe is trying to tell me something, sending me signals straight to my backyard via three bobcats, a ginormous eagle, a coyote, and a duck who pecked on my bedroom's sliding glass door. Just to be clear: I live in LA, not on farm, so all of these sightings are out of the ordinary! But then this morning the fashion gods sent me a much more decipherable sign via eight open tabs on my browser, all pointing me in the direction of a new white summer dress (or 8!). And so I thought I'd share this divine intervention with you! It's interesting what catches your eye when you're in TGIF-mode! It's definitely a flowy, easy-going dress for me, one that I can throw on and be ready for... you name it! Prime examples: this, this and this. More Fr-eye-day candy: these looks, worn by women recently in Milan, where it appears as if everyday is a summer Friday--and relaxed white t-shirts (my current favorite), filmy, ethereal dresses (Hill House Home, La Ligne, Elie Saab on sale) and long printed skirts (Rosie Assoulin and Farm Rio) and Birkenstocks (and Italian slippers!) prevail . This is the summer to Le Catch a Jitney! My twin sister and I teamed up with The Hampton Jitney to help celebrate its 50th anniversary by showering loyal riders (read: Long Island Expressway weekend warriors!) with hand-picked giveaways from our favorite brands.
