summer dressing
Monday, June 9
Summer officially began this past weekend with a festive Friday lunch at Chez Mia with an oversized dancing robot drifting through the outdoor patio, blowing bubbles on us (because why not). By sunset, we were at San Vicente in Santa Monica for an al fresco birthday dinner, with golden light, extra layers to stave off the sea breeze, and that easy, anticipatory rhythm only a June evening can bring. From midday whimsy to evening elegance, it was a reminder that the best summer days stretch across settings—and that the right outfit makes each me feel effortless. On that note: Net-a-Porter just launched an edit for summer occasions that makes getting dressed easier (and honestly, more fun). It's worth bookmarking because the season’s just getting started--and so is shopping, specifically Johanna Ortiz floral dress (above!), the Isabel Marant, below, this lunch-to-dinner ruffled Staud, this printastic La Double J, and this stunning ethereal Zimmermann. Check out the masterful party-ready capsule here!

summer class
Friday, June 6
Like clockwork, just as the heat is beginning to hum, the fashion gods are drawing back the curtain—and the cult items of summer are stepping into the light. They're clinging to the necks of creative directors in Paris, or dangling from bags that don’t yet have waitlists—but will. And now, we see them clearly. The paracord wave is cresting with quiet confidence—on ankles, charms, and strap details that say more about energy than accessory. Spotted at The French Open yesterday: Veronica Beard's more-is-more take, above, (perhaps inspired by this Prada). Fish pendants (Blooming Dreamer, below, Eliou), albeit a 2024 holdover, are bigger than ever, circling the necks of the in-the-know (Lucy Williams, below) like aquatic talismans. Handwoven bags in burnished golds and silvers feel almost nostaligic--love these options from J.Crew and a non-metallic one from And Other Stories. And netted sandals, barely-there but utterly intentional, tell us this summer walks softly but with purpose. Dorsey founder Meg Strachan models the perfect version by Staud. Balloon-fit pants (thank you, Chloe--on sale now!) are taking space unapologetically, as if exhaling. And aren't we all ready to exhale? P.S. Helping us breathe easier: this and this! Happy Weekend!

packed to go
Thursday, June 5
I chatted with my sister this morning while she was boarding a flight to Maui for a photo shoot, calm as ever, sipping her almond latte, wheeling her trusty carry-on like a pro. She mentioned that her 16-year-old daughter (my niece/goddaughter) was already packing for her own study abroad trip to Florence... which doesn’t happen until mid-June. Yes, mid-June. This girl has zero shame about showing up at the airport like an over-burdened sherpa, overweight luggage be damned. Me? I am the total opposite, team carry-on (okay, with one borderline-too big "personal item.") Naturally, our conversation got me mentally packing and shopping for my imminent summer adventures. Within minutes, I turned up the following carry-on musts from The Reformation (the crochet tote, above, will serve as a beach bag, too), Massimo Dutti, Zara crochet dress and embellished bikini, H&M, Simkhai (tassel mania!), Prada (forever), Hijas de Puka, Topshop and Tory Burch (the color of the summer!)
summer stripes
Wednesday, June 4
Stripes are a perennial favorite for me but there's something about summer that brings out their full charm. Whether it's a classic Breton tee, a crisp button-down (Matteau, below, and no-fail J.Crew), or a seaside-ready sundress (Simon Miller, above), stripes shine brightest under the sun. This season, they're making a nostalgic comeback: old-school black-and-white combos, rugby-style tops (yes to this and this for $35!), and retro-inspired silhouettes that nod to old-school prep and Riviera glam. It’s less bold-and-graphic, more timeless-and-tailored. It's as easy as this, this, this, this and this. P.S. I love the white bandana scarf/belt, below.
tuesdsay
Tuesday, June 3
It's one of those Tuesdays: It's 9:58AM, I’m still in my sweaty tennis clothes from my early morning hitting session (glamorous, no. honest, yes), my laptop is a minefield of browser tabs all vying for attention, and I’m supposed to be downtown (read: the other side of the universe) dressed in this—by noon. So rather than attempt to untangle the web of inspiration, screenshots, links, and half-formed thoughts currently swirling around my desktop (and my brain), I’m just going to show you what I want to share today. No editorial gymnastics. Just: this. Because it’s good. And sometimes, that’s enough.
Doen's lace silk shorts, above and below, are in order. I love these because they're a little longer and under $100!
Posse gingham shorts with loafers. Yes and yes.
My new Dorsey paracord necklace and Thatch heart pendant in Tiger's Eye for grounding energy! My blouse is vibing current Gucci, but I actually snapped it up last year in Milan.
The Mango jacket I want to wear all through June Gloom and beyond--over pretty dresses.
I'm waiting for these Zara sandals to arrive.
Yes to this metal beads and crochet combo at Asos.
More metal mettle for $128 at Anthropologie. Size up! And now I have to put the pedal to the metal and go!
undone summer
Monday, June 2
Matteau’s Instagram has me plotting a summer straight out of its feed: South of France girls trips, breezy afternoons that melt into golden evenings, and a suitcase full of broderie dresses (below), string bikinis, and print button-downs that somehow always look better slightly rumpled. It's not only a vibe--it’s a lifestyle. It’s effortless elegance with a passport stamp. Catch me chasing that energy all season long--or at least dressing like I am with these additional (under $200) accents from J.Crew, Free People, For Love & Lemons, and River Island (looks so much like Chloe).
cap d'antibes
Monday, June 2
Cap D'Antibes’s tasseled terry miniskirt embodies the vibrant spirit of its namesake. (P.S. The whole collection takes me to the South of France minus the fistfuls of Euros! I also want the dress and shorts! )
1. Theory striped linen t-shirt, $205, theory.com
2. Cap d'Antibes terry cloth mini skirt, $275, net-a-porter.com
3. Aire sunglasses, $39, shopbop.com
4. Gorjana heart huggies, $65, shopbop.com
5. Pucci straw basket bag, $1255, mytheresa.com
6. Zara sandals, $59, zara.com
safe haven
Saturday, May 31
My sister has a way of capturing exactly how I feel when I wear Haven Well Within. Most of the photos here are hers, taken in Anguilla not too long ago, and they reflect the same feeling the clothes give me: grounded, at ease, a kind of effortless calm. The clothes seriously feel like a deep exhale. Nothing forced, nothing extra. Take for example: the linen halter dress, above, the gauze blouse and the open stitch pullover, below. One photo (the one of me) clearly isn’t hers—but I included it because when I’m in these clothes--the one-shoulder suit and sarong---I transition into a serene world she frames so beautifully. See the summer collection here.
maycember milieu
Friday, May 30
A sure sign of a good party is almost no photos, and that's exactly why I am sharing this random one from last night's Le Catch x Clare V celebration chez moi! I can also share with you what we all talked about: Maycember and the end-of-school-year marathon of events and milestones, Sirens and Pulse, my new favorite miracle serum (I swear, it works!), Staci Woo's amazing Palisades sweatshirts (see my IG Stories), fringe and more fringe (here, here, and here, below), The Knicks (yay for winning!), the sumptuousness of Guest in Residence (as seen on Candace Nelson last night), and the festive but still practical nature of my TWP blouse and my Thatch Jewelry heart that everyone understandably wants for $100, above. Happy Last Weekend in May!
