the big cover up
Tuesday, July 11
I have a weird, preternatural tendency to convert all kinds of clothing into beach-ready cover-ups. Chalk it up to my 24/7 proximity to the ocean--or just my penchant for creative styling. Actually, I just think all clothes deserve a day in the sun! Hence my current fondness for lightweight midi skirts such as this (LOVE!) and this that go from sea to street or eyelet dresses (I took the lining out of the H&M, below, to effect sheer and summery). Other versatile wonders: the H&M caftan, below, this stunning Sea, this embroidered Lug Von Siga, this colorful Anna Kosterova, this mini Sundress, this openwork Mango tunic, and this crazy cute floral Asos.
summer set
Monday, July 10
Not all Mondays are created equal. Summer ones are superior, as they go hand in hand with a casually cool uniform that could entail a pair of long, loose-fitting shorts, but paired with elegant shoes to keep things refined, or a one-and-done Merlette denim dress, below. I'd like to kick off mine in the Mango set, below, or in this mini Cos dress, this floral Rodarte, this Moon River maxi, and this eyelet Rails.
story time
Friday, July 7
Yesterday I wore an And Other Stories embroidered blouse and was complimented everywhere I went from Erewhon to the Brentwood Country Mart to a Zoom call. Now I'm poised for heaps more praise with the lace billowy-sleeve blouse, above. Everyone will think it's vintage Chloe and I might just let them. ;)
endless sandals
Friday, July 7
The way I see it: investing in a pair of leather flip flops now yields deep-into-fall-wearing returns. The Row's minimal leather sandals set the (OG) standard, elegant in their simplicity, enduring in their versatility, but the ones by Massimo Dutti, above, also fit the bill, along with these from Toteme and J.Crew (on sale for $15!). I intend to wear mine post Labor Day with other soon-to-be fall staples, such as a leather skirt and an oversized blazer.

trouser time
Thursday, July 6
Think of loose-fitting white trousers as a refreshing stand-in for quotidian white jeans. Equally versatile, laid-back, and comfortable, the trouser is, IMHO, exceedingly more elegant and modern. German designer Viktoria Rader, pictured here, is practically living in them this summer, rotating various iterations that range from crisp and pleated to pull-on and sheer. I love them all, for both work and play. I specifically adore these versions from Anine Bing (true perfection), The Reformation, Frankie Shop, Velvet, Topshop, and COS.

24/7 summer
Thursday, July 6
Looks like I'll be savoring summer's long days and balmy nights in a few new dresses I just scooped on sale at 24S, including the vivid Ulla Johnson, above, as well as this lovely! You can also get 15% off just-in pre-fall looks with the code Summer15 (with a purchase of $300 or more/some brands excluded). On my wish list: these Isabel Marant boots, these lace-up sandals by The Row, this Self-Portrait sequined jacket, and these Miu Miu jeans. Shop it all here through the end of July.
back to the ballet
Wednesday, July 5
Paris' shoe du jour--the ballet flat--is stepping out everywhere during Couture Week with looks both basic and big time. My all-time favorite is by Porte and Paire, available in a slew of cute colors, followed by Everlane. I also adore this spot-on sequin one from Zara!

The Vogue girls are suiting up in statement tops for the long holiday weekend--and inspiring me to subscribe! Madeline Fass opts for a sexy Proenza Schouler bodysuit, above, with low-waist trousers, while Lisa Aiken works a crochet blouse by The Row. Find me Satuday-Tuesday in these tops by Phillip Lim, Endless Rose, Andrea Iyama, and Topshop. Happy 4th!
