And just like that we have a new must-have blazer to buy! It's cropped and fitted, tailored and polished, and even functions like a shirt (read: no need to wear anything underneath). Zara (love the fancy Bottega-like buttons) makes the one, above, but I also adore these iterations from Free People (vegan leather), R13 (khaki canvas), Velvet (classic), J.Crew, and Saint Laurent (tuxedo).

My two favorite food groups: denim and stripes!

Last I checked, spring is 27 days away, yet Moda Operandi buyer Jasmin Kirk is springing ahead in sub-40-degree NYC, with crochet (paired with leather to make it work now!), a cropped Balenciaga trench, below, (this one from Favorite Daughter is also terrific) and a fringed Khaite dress, among other key next-season silhouettes. I want to fast forward too and winterize these future-ready pieces from Diotima (last pic), Sandro (fringed dress, below), Sezane, (with socks or tights now!),Free People (love the metal clasps), and Maje, (picture the embroidered collars peaking out from a cashmere crewneck!), along with this Eleven Six tasseled top, this gorgeous white Magda Burtrym floral applique bag, and this statement-making Staud top.

If you're looking for a detailed recap of London Fashion Week, just stand in Alexa Chung's shoes. Literally. Her Simone Rochas red metallic ballet flats whisked her to the BAFTAs, and then off to (Erdem, 16Arlington, Emilia Wickstead, Connor Ives, JW Anderson) shows, all in strut-worthy Celine loafers, above, studded Khaite boots, sparkly Gucci slingbacks, black Prada kitten heels, patent leather Christian Louboutin ballerina slippers, and shiny Ferragamo ankle-strap wedge pumps.

Can we talk about how good Everlane looks right now? The new spring collection branches out from the usual basics with more fashion-forward pieces offering more bang for the buck. My favorites: square-toe ballet flats ($145), above, a well-cut, corduroy-collared barn jacket, and a chic cropped denim jacket, both below and under $200.

While my son is busy upstairs mounting a computer monitor screen to his bedroom wall (how does he know how to do this??) on this rainy, stay-at-home holiday, I'm doing the usual: scouring the web and scoring some excellent finds, including the deeply-discounted J.W. Anderson blazer, above, the on-sale-today-only Cinq a Sept dress, below. (Sourced at Neiman Marcus, which is having a pretty excellent President's Day Sale, BTW.) Also cute: the fringed Mango, last pic, this vintage-looking parka, and this sheer (Khaite-like) button-down shirt for under $100!

I never knew I needed a closet full of leather until this morning, when I discovered Zara's just-dropped leather edit, complete with wrap skirts, trench coats, mini dresses, tank tops and ruched slingback heels. Then I realized it should all be complemented by some fringe, pops of red and cushy faux fur. 110%!

While the fashion set has shifted to the runway shows in London, I'm still stuck on the above look by Altuzarra, unveiled in New York earlier this week: The ethereal lace dress, layered with a structured blazer is styled with sheer stockings and--these are key!--flat patent-leather pointy-toe flats. So impeccably elegant yet unassuming. I want to run out and get a pair of fresh-looking, dress-worthy flats to wear around the clock. Toteme makes the must-have pair, but these by The Reformation, below, Stuart Weitzman and The Row are also distinctly cool. (P.S. I'm thinking I can sub in the below faux leather $144 Pixie Market to wear with my new flats till the lacy lovely comes out next fall!)
