When sweater weather blew into New York this past weekend, the boot brigade trotted out, sharp, polished, and fantastically knee-high. These calf-hugging, block-heeled leather boots are like a breath of fresh air--i.e., not your typical season-after-season ankle bootie. I saw them pounding the Soho pavement with everything from loose-fitting trousers to skirts and dresses. The sight of it all inspired me to hunt down some of my own.
