On Saturday, I threw on a new dress, second to last pic, not because I had anywhere special to be (does a salon appointment on Montana Avenue count?), but because the sun said so. The dress was easy, a little structured, a little slinky, and it made an ordinary day feel touched by something else. That’s the energy I want to hold onto this summer: saying yes when it’s easier not to. Yes to slipping into something beautiful just because. Yes to last-minute dance party invites, swathed in (below), to lounging around on steamy nights in and denim shorts (), to the kind of warmth that makes me want to stay longer than usual.
