Copenhagen currently feels more like fall, with its 50-degree temps and gusty rain squalls--and the city looks like it too, with cold weather-suitable coats, leather jackets and layered trenches out in full fashion-week force. Also ubiquitous: low-slung, loose-fitting, wide-leg white jeans. The unexpected summer carry-over is like a bright ray of sunshine in next-season's lineup, striking in its versatility and fresh-looking fit. Some solid options to defy the chill and gloom come from AGOLDE, Levi's, Slvrlake, Citizens of Humanity, and The Row.
the new jeans
french burgundy
It's all about a pointy-toe pump this fall, so I bought these (baby) kitten heels to kick up everything from jeans to skirts. They're everyday-running-around compatible and come in a variety of colors, but the French Burgundy, above, beams with sleek Khaite vibes.

summer blues
Summer typically has me giving my jeans some much-deserved time off, but Lisbon-based Vicky Montanari is inspiring me to employ new atypical styles. Her current rotation spans from patchwork to pinstriped to studded to cuffed, all exuding warm-weather whimsy. I especially love her studded boyfriend jeans by Re/Done (immediately below) along with these Nili Lotan striped jeans, and this patchwork pair. Also desirable: this Agolde cargoes. She wears them with these $60 studded Stradivarius ballet flats and these green Everlane. P.S. Find tons of amazing jeans on sale here.
patched up
London-based Michelle Driscoll turned me on to my new summer jeans by Rails. I love how distinctly different they are from the white jeans already in my closet, thanks to the whimsical patchwork and cropped hem. They'd look cute with boots and a blazer too, come next winter!

baggy and beautiful
For me, warmer weather usually comes with the challenge of finding the newest and cutest pair of white jeans. This season is proving trickier than usual as the current must-have silhouette is distinctly baggier and looser-fitting. I'm good with this new relaxed fit and its inherent ease and comfort--but I won't wear it unless it's 100% flattering! Thankfully, there are a few options that manage to tick the trend box and compliment my figure. They include these loose-but-not-too-loose pairs by Grlfrnd, Khaite, Anine Bing, Levi's, and The Row.
crown jewel
I snapped up this bejeweled blouse with major Miu Miu vibes--and sized up for a louche, oversized fit.

denim pants
While my closet is far from organized, I do keep my jeans in meticulous order. They are categorized according to fit: high-waist, cropped, straight-leg, etc. But then there is a pair that is in a class all on its own, classified as my denim pants, because they look more like polished trousers than jeans and they deadlock with my tailored blazers (check out the pristine example by Khaite, above, and also here). Yes, they are a special breed and they need to spawn some more options for me pronto. I'm looking into these by Frame, Anine Bing, Zara, and AGOLDE.
