get it before it's gone
Friday, October 3
Back in my Lucky magazine days, I was part of the editorial brainstorms where we’d all weigh in on the next big thing—whether it was a bag shape, a boot height, or a skirt silhouette. The end result always felt like insider intel whispered straight from the fashion front lines. Fast-forward to now: Paris runways and the surrounding street style scene are essentially serving up the same crystal ball. My IG feed is essentially a preview of what I’ll be coveting/wearing six months from now: Color-blocking primary colors (red, yellow, blue), 80s' Capezio-like shoes (from Celine to Larroude), drapey capes (Attersee, above, and this under-$100 wrap)—it’s like watching my fashion future unfold in real time. The fun part? We all get to shop the “Trust Us” moment now, before it goes fully mainstream. Which means staking claim to those harbingers-of-what’s-next pieces—before they’re everywhere (or gone!), starting with statement skirts (feathers, lace , fringed, and sequins), stand-alone anoraks (this, this and this, or just a zip-up knit pretending to be one), tie-blouses (chambray and silk and on sale), pink anything (jacket, party dress, everyday blouse), and keyhole silhouettes (yes and yes) a la Jil Sander and Prada. Happy Friday!
