the bomber jacket
Monday, September 26
From New York to London to Milan, fashion show-goers are faring fall in the seemingly adaptable bomber jacket. Besides being just-right warm, the bomber is easy to layer, dress-to-pants versatile and comfy as can be. While I prefer the clean and simple iterations, the embellished bombers undeniably pull together an outfit with a bang! And it looks like the bigger, the better. Consider joining the ranks with these options from The Frankie Shop, Alpha Industries (reversible!), H&M, and Prada (immediately below).

I have my fair share dresses from The Reformation, but now I am compiling a hefty sweater collection, as the brand's wardrobe-staple fits and prices are spot on. Plus, the cashmere is recycled, and that's always a good thing. I especially love the extra big sunny situation, below, and these stripes. And since I know you are going to ask, the gold earrings, pictured, are from Dior.
lucia love
Friday, September 23
For me, this back-to-school year ushered in a new morning routine. These days when I wake up, I don't immediately check my Instagram, email or texts. Instead, I try tame the percolating to-do thoughts and take a few minutes to meditate (with a lot of help from Rise: Mini Mindful Morning Meditations by Julie Skon). When the sparks of restlessness start creeping in (which they inevitably do!), I get out of bed, open the screen doors to my oak tree-filled backyard, breathe in the fresh outside air, make a cup of coffee--and do everything I can to put off screen time till after school drop-off! The other morning had me, coffee in hand, watching the framed photograph, below, which hangs prominently on a wall near my front door. Created by one of my NYC-based best friends Lucia Engstrom, this ethereal piece of art depicts a poetic landscape of messy, wild and tangled florals. It's hazy and dreamlike and it has hand-embroidered text woven into the image that says, "Day Ddreamers Welcome," making it textural, palpable and organic. Totally transfixing and transporting--way, way more than my Instagram feed. To say I love it would be an understatement. Hence, I'm sharing this vision with you. the denim skirt
Thursday, September 22
Looks like fashionistas on the forefront (read: Fashion Week in London and Milan) are trading in their jeans for denim skirts. Of course, they're anything but average. Rather, these blues are embellished, fringed and/or feature unique tailoring. All a sight to behold! I found some distinctly cool options from Citizens of Humanity (pleated! asymmetrical!), Polo Ralph Lauren (under $200!), Frame, Chloe, B Sides (patchwork!) and Philosophy di Lorezo Serafini.
my crew
Wednesday, September 21
When my twin sister photographed J.Crew's fall campaign in Maine a few months ago, she confidently predicted that I would fall in love with all the new clothes. The vibrant colors, the rich textures--all up my alley, she explained. Of course, she was 100% right! I especially adore J.Crew's updated classics right now--i.e., a blazer cropped and nipped in sync with this season, for example, or an exaggerated cable-knit cardigan to throw over pretty much everything. I recently snapped up a few of these wardrobe heroes that nail effortlessly chic and everyday cool. They include this cropped tailored jacket (that doubles as a top), these vintage-inspired slim-fitting corduroy pants, and these super comfy clogs (all featured in last pic). Also fantastic: this almost chic but cozy sweater blazer, this cashmere knit tank top and these do-it-all army-green cargo pants.
dine and shine

Not only do I love dining (and celeb-spotting) at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, but I relish the effortlessly chic dress code, too. This glamorous beaded sweater would fit in perfectly.

le zara
Wednesday, September 21
For those apprehensive about fall's mini skirt trend, consider the skort, namely this $40 faux leather Zara. It's equal parts sexy and sensible, effecting luxurious and polished--with comfort and ease. Also, how good is the cropped $150 jacket, below? I'll take both, please!
khaite cuteness
Tuesday, September 20
Just in case you missed it yesterday, Khaite's cult pieces are among the discounted desirables at Shopbop. I took advantage and snapped up this perfect denim skirt that's year-round (and forever) wearable!
mary me
Tuesday, September 20
Get ready for another Mary Jane moment. Yes, this classic shoe--now with an updated twist or two--is back this fall. Chanel, above, helped kick-start this trend, which is now sprinting full steam ahead due to its everyday/everywhere versatility. And there are so many good options to choose from! Among the best are these iterations from The Row (also in this color!), Sam Edelman, Doen (below on Kaia Gerber!), and Porte and Paire. I love them so much I bought the flat version by Sam Edelman and a dressy (but still day-in-and-day-out) wedge heel from Prada.
