don't sweat it
Monday, September 23
My son's idea of "getting dressed" for school is throwing on a pair of baggy sweatpants. While it’s not my favorite look, I can’t help but admire his commitment to comfort—especially since I want to indulge my own today with the above head-to-toe Zara. The slit pant leg elevates them significantly; Styling them with a monochromatic sweatshirt and polished pointy-toe flats (rather than sneakers!) works wonders, too. You know that I rarely write about sweatpants, so these must be extra special to make an appearance here--and the ones highlighted in my latest Substack, below, are fresh off the press!
jacket required
Friday, September 20
I love a fashion trend that simplifies getting dressed. This fall, all I need to look up to date is jacket that doubles as a shirt--essentially, stand-alone outerwear with (almost) nothing underneath. I can facilitate this fresh look further with these slam-dunk options from Isabel Marant Etoile, Ganni, ASTR The Label, Sezane, and Free People. Keep in mind, details makes all the difference, such as the red corduroy collar on the Gucci jacket, below! P.S. I'd be tempted to not wear anything under the striking burgundy faux leather Topshop trench either!
pretty pleats
Thursday, September 19
I'd like to credit my three-day veggies-only cleanse for looking extra skinnier in my jeans, but I honestly think it's all about the pleats here! They really do work magic! Mine are by Ozma but I also love these by Nili Lotan, Veronica Beard and The Gap, all of which I own!! In case you're wondering, my blazer is from Maison Mayle and pointy-toe flats are by Toteme. Happy almost Friday!

Not sure how London-based stylist Lucy Alston came onto my radar, but I am so glad she did. Her effortlessly chic fall fashion is worth tracking--and shopping! Let's start with her Sezane shacket, above, (find similar options here, here and here) and outfit-punctuating red mesh flats, shall we? I could totally see myself wearing her Citizens of Humanity jeans, Madewell bag and Arket button-down, below, like pretty much everyday. (P.S. Did you know Asos now carries Arket? Finally, we have Arket in America!). I could also use that forever-chic Madewell leather blazer (25% off right now!!), last pic!

far afield
Wednesday, September 18
It's only mid-way through September and I'm already feeling field-jacket fatigue. They're literally everywhere! Rotating in Sea's embellished jacket, above, is one way I'm thinking about standing out from the crowd this fall (it's very Prada after all!), or perhaps with some statement fringe a la Stephanie Covington, below (I bought in with this black Free People) or Lauren Santo Domingo's parka by The Row. Also compelling: this collarless wool Everlane (that looks way more expensive than $228!), this button-down Mango (bound to sell out!), and this BLANKNYC shawl-collared bomber jacket, all under $200!

Few people in the world have as deep an understanding of jeans as Jane Herman. The L.A. native grew up selling jeans and t-shirts at her family’s Ron Herman stores. She then spent two decades in New York, where she honed her expertise as a fashion writer and editor for Vogue and T: The New York Times Style Magazine and contributed her creative vision to brands such as GAP and Theory, all the while perfecting/sourcing her personal collection of impeccably-fitting denim. These days, she not only has an established denim line with a cult following called The Only Jane, but a must-read newsletter about, what else, denim! Last week, she reached out to me—and 18 other fashion insiders—to unveil our top fall picks. With a roster of experts like Jennifer Alfano, Leandra Cohen, and Becky Malinsky, it was no surprise to discover some of the season's most coveted styles, specifically these by B Sides, Auralee, Loulou Studio (reportedly, the happy medium between straight-leg and wide) and Toteme (barell leg, baby!). I want them all!

london lookout
Monday, September 16
London's sweater weather forecast is warm and fuzzy--and refreshingly comfortable, too. Fall's latest and greatest are rooted in oversized silhouettes, like the cashmere J.Crew, above, slouchy J.W. Anderson turtlenecks (below) and statement pieces like this, this and this! P.S. Expect to see lots (and pops!) of knit bandana-like scarves too as temperatures dip!
