french mystery
Friday, September 29
The je ne sais quoi of French style--that undefinable allure--is manifest in these street style snaps, precisely articulated in the cream Anine Bing satin dinner jacket (note: worn during the day!), the perfectly-fitting Leset t-shirt and belted (so key!) light-wash AGOLDE jeans! Also, below in a Reformation dark denim shirt, faded vintage Levi's and Loewe Squeeze bag.
belt bound
Friday, September 29
A belt looped through jeans that already fit perfectly is very much in style. Particularly trendy are the recognizable designer belts (Celine, The Row, Khaite), which, however, I've been reluctant to invest in, despite the fact that it's an outfit-polishing accessory I wear every single day. Instead, I'm bound to Nili Lotan's gold-buckle leather belt, above, which goes with literally all my jeans and trousers and cinches coats and jackets, too. It's a must!
black and white
Thursday, September 28
What's hot in fashion right now is as clear as black and white. Literally. It's not just on the runways (The Row, Christian Dior, Khaite, etc), but also on the streets in New York, Paris, London and Milan, as these pics prove. While these basic colors are already well represented in my closet, I could use some updated silhouettes that will transcend more colorful seasons to come, with no shades of grey! Some stalwarts I have my eye on include this relaxed satin white blazer from Leset, everyday-perfect black dresses from Awake Mode (immediately below and 25% off!), Sabina Musayev, Nili Lotan and Hill House Home, this go-with everything black leather skirt and white skirt (on sale!) and this chicest of all black coat by The Row!
me + em
Thursday, September 28
Name a better (fashion) feeling that slipping on a pair of jeans that feels like second skin and flatters your body. I'm waiting... Well, I recently found a pair by UK-based label ME +EM that checks both those boxes. Plus, the flare-leg silhouette is unlike any other I have in my denim arsenal, so they are everything but everyday predictable. I actually discovered some other fall gems by ME + EM that are poised to flatter and fit perfectly, including this brushed cashmere cardigan, this pleated dress, this lace layering top, and this leather jacket. Posted in paid partnership.
touchy feely
Wednesday, September 27
Prada's fans turned up at last week's runway show in Milan, decked out in the designer's 3-D styles, only to see that Spring 2024 collection has even more tactile details in store from gossamer-light dresses to metallic fringed belts to sparkly, sequin-flecked blouses and jackets. While I'd love to splurge on the embroidered organza skirt and leather-floral ballerina flats, last picture, I am going to get in on the statement-making game for a lot less with this decadent-looking under $500 Xu Zhi feather-trimmed tank, the embellished Anthropologie button-down ($158) and fringe cardigan ($118) along with this, this and this!
lipstick on the rim
Wednesday, September 27
They say the best podcasts have you feeling like you are part of a personal conversation, which is exactly why I am such a fan of my dear friend Molly Sims' Lipstick on the Rim. Whenever I listen to her episodes whether with Dr. Will Cole on gut health or Tinx about self-worth, I feel like I'm sitting on her sofa, her dogs Magic and Ruby nestled nearby and her three children squealing in the backyard. So, when she invited me to talk about fall fashion trends and share my style secrets, I jumped! Yes, I was nervous (first podcast ever!), but she and her co-host/bestie Emese Gormley made me feel like I was ensconced in her LA living room, chit-chatting as usual, showing off our latest shopping scores (i.e., the Khaite-spirited Sam Edelman shoes I wore to the recording session!) and our new favorite up and coming designers (TWP, Adina Reyter), style inspo (Meg Strachan/Dorsey), best leg-lengthening jeans (Nili Lotan, AGOLDE, Mother), fall must-buys (this brown leather Madewell jacket, these white Prada flats, and this red Rixo dress) and my can't-live-without beauty product, YSE Problem Solver, which, because of Molly, has pretty much solved all my skin problems! Listen to the podcast here!
crew up
Tuesday, September 26
Barcelona-based Blanca Miro, above, pulls off a super cool magic trick in this picture: she transforms inexpensive staples into designer-looking gems. So much so that you might be shocked to learn that she's wearing all J.Crew! How gorgeous is that pearl and metallic ball necklace? It's $39! And the cropped leather jacket? Looks like it was snapped up at Bergdorf ! I give her credit for all the just-launched pieces, including the embellished t-shirt, the fuzzy cardigan, and the fleece jacket in my shopping cart, below.
